1st time I took my car.  ~1500 cars this month.  No idea who takes the pics or decides which go on their facebook update, but was cool to see mine -- 3rd row of pics, 3rd pic...  http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150633551515687.391360.250042415686&type=1

Really looks good Rob, bet you got more than your share of admiring fans.

The top's up. What is that thing a Miata?!    ;)

Congrats. Looks very sharp!

Looking Good Rob! Must be running good now. I'm curious. I read your son's comments about bumpers being shaped. Custom?

rficalora

Haven't seen what he posted Jim but haven't made the nerf bars for the back yet. Have the materials but don't have a torch to heat the pipe so looking for other ideas for how to bend using stuff I have or can borrow.  And may end up going sans bumper on front.  Didn't notice till I went to install that bumper that I apparently got a dip in my metal work when I shaved the park/turn signals. Bumper doesn't line up right now. Low on my priority list but does bug my son so that's probably what he commented on.

That looks great. The top looks like it fits well in that pic.

Yout son's comments make him sound like a participant in the project which is good.

My son spent too much time on his playstation and not enough in the garage. So when he was looking for things to write on his Red Bull application for he was scratching around a bit.

Awesome!  Terrific photo too.  Certainly the coolest car and photo on the page.

1500 cars?  I didn't realize Cars & Coffee was that big.
1971 MGB GT V8
Buick 215 w/ Rover heads, custom EFI & crank-fired ignition.
Custom front and rear coilover suspensions.

Carl, can't tell from most of the pics, but it was cold that day. RE: Miata... Funnier comment was on a BMW forum where someone posted a pic of my car.  Someone else asked what it was... 'an MG-TD or Alpha or something?'

Curtis - yeah, it was huge.  They're probably not all that big, but the Houston one just keeps getting bigger.  Showing some signs of growing pains with the mall that allows use of the parking lot.  Won't be surprised if they have to split it up before too much longer.

David - both of my boys helped - older son (now 16) seemed to be more into it but both did enough to learn & get comfortable around mechanical things - which was one of my goals.  In addition to the body mods, the boys helped with getting the car running before we pulled the 1800, pulling original motor, wiring, and lots of stuff while we were working on it. And they both love it when I take them to school or other school events where their friends will see them.

Rob

I really like the stance of the car now. Tell me more about what you need bent, I may be able to help you out.

Thanks Jim.  I sent you a PM with some info on it.

Wow Rob, what a gorgeous car!  Honestly one of the best of I've ever seen.  Can't wait to see it in person one day.  I'll be on the road this summer finally, but not in time for MG 2012. :(

You've just given me motivation to work faster (or smarter!)

Nice job mate

Nice work Rob. Your car is looking fantastic. Post some more videos of the sound coming from that little beast. It must be music to your ears!

Super looking car Rob!  We're about a month away from driving the B in this part of the world.
What did you use for the door mirrors?

Matthew and I went to the local C&C this morning. Looked like a good crowd. We got there late because I forgot about it and by 11:00 they were starting to pull out but we had time to walk through the lot. There was one MGB-GT and I caught the driver as he was leaving for a short hello. He said there had been another MG there and he is a regular so maybe we'll catch up with them next Saturday morning. Lots of variety.
