I need a 3.07 ring&pinion for my VOLVO PV544, it is now powered by a Rover 3500cc V8 with an auto box. Any help would be appreciated, where can I source this item? I have looked in all the usual places on the internet.

Look in older Jeep Wagoneers front axles. I don't know about 3.07 but 3.31 was common.

Jim, if he uses the ring and pinion from a front axle in a RWD application  won't he be running on the coast side of the gears? Not the best for good gear life and quite operation.

Bill, He would if they were reverse cut. Some front axles, like the Dana 27 and 30 were the same as rear axle and you are right in that application werent as strong as the reverse cut high pinion Dana 44 in a 70's F150. Toyota IFS were regular cut as rear also and I did an article a while back on using them as IRS. The IFS 8.8 in my newer F150 is reverse cut.
