Hi all:

I am a retired music professor who has owned Sunbeams for more than 35 years.  I presently have a 1964 Sunbeam Alpine with a mild 302 & C4 automatic, a 1966 Tiger MK1A with 289 & 4 speed top loader and a 1967 Series V Alpine with a W58 5 speed. My cars are not trailer queens and are regularly driven by me. In addition to Sunbeams I enjoy walleye fishing on the Missouri River.

Paul, you are so cruel! I can't believe you posted such a small photo. We don't see enough Sunbeams on this website, but I know I for one would love to see more photos of each of your cars.

Incidentally, I'm about to add a Tiger article to our sister website - "BritishRacecar.com" - and that car is even a similar yellow to the one in your photo.

There = is that better?   The photo was taken prior to installing the chrome side strips.  They are now in place.  This '66 Tiger was off the road and in storage in various locations in Illinois and Wisconsin for more than 20 years prior to restoration.  It has just over 65,000 actual miles.  The maiden voyage was a 600 mile round trip from Mitchell, SD to Minneapolis, MN and return.  It performed flawlessly.

Paul, how far are you from Sioux Falls?

Hi JB

I live in Mitchell, SD  - about an hour west of Sioux Falls, right on Interstate 90.  Mitchell is a community of about 15,000

Hi Paul,

In the small, small world of Little British Cars, you provided a Tiger manifold that's residing on my small block  Ford Healey  swap:  http://forum.britishv8.org/read.php?13,8264  Good to see you on this site.  Welcome!

Hi Rick

Happy New Year to you.  How did the swap work out?  Is the project complete and the car on the road?

No driving here in sunny South Dakota for a while - winter really slammed us over New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

later,

Paul

The o-ring to my oil filter housing on the MGC failed in Mitchell, SD. I was on my way to Vancouver, BC for MG99.

I lucked out..I had brought a spare filter (and o-ring, and managed to find 8 quarts of oil...no harm, no foul!

Visited the Corn Palace (very briefly.)

Paul, if you get to Sioux Falls you might like to stop by Schulte Subaru and ask for Terry. He has some cars you might like to see.
