I have recently purchased a Triumph Stag... well because I like it.  Having never owned one, I don't know too much about the car, so purchasing a car that needs a bit of work and TLC would be a good way to learn about it.  It is fitted with a Rover v8 and Edelbrock Carb, see photo attached.

I recently started with the usual oil change etc.  The first hurdle I am faced with at the moment is to find a replacement air filter.  The one fitted has the following dimensions:
Outer Diameter  14" / 350m
Thickness           1 1/8" / 30mm
Height                 1 7/8" / 50mm

I would really appreciate it if someone can please let me know if they have come across one of these or in fact have something like it fitted to their own car and what part number I need to be looking out for.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

Hey Donny,

I've noticed that sometimes engines are put together with non-standard or custom bits and pieces so your filter and housing may be taken from a completely different application.

The best thing to do is take your old air filter with you to a knowledgable pro parts shop (I don't bother going in to the local big box stores as the kids behind the counter have no clue.) along with the housing and name/number of the carb.

They should be able to easily match the filter specs that way.

This will be the easiest way to get the correct fitting air filter.

BTW.  Buy a quality brand name rather than a no name or cheap store brand... This really makes a difference in excellent filtering and air flow.

I tried to look it up on k & n's website, no luck exactly but they did have several 14" round filters, one was 2 1/2 inches tall, not sure it that would clear your bonnet or not, but it might be something to look into.  The site wouldn't let me save search results but here is the link, then you can just put in 14" outside diameter and see the results
good luck

When I needed a replacement for my 14" X 2" filter for my MG, I just went to my local Napa dealer and they simply looked it up on their computer an I had it the next day.
Pete Mantell (217-649-7717) installed a 1 7/8" thick filter when I had my engine replaced. not sure where he got it from but pretty sure it was from a similar source.

D&D (810-798-2491) also has 14" X 2" filters
