We have to decide on a color for the GT and the sooner we get started the better. Currently we have a pretty decent carpet set in the car. The carpet is black. Mr Mike is going to provide upholstery. So far the only color suggestions we've seen for the upholstery is "dark" and "two tone black/dark gray". The car body is currently a medium blue, probably an original color.

Personally, I like a metalic burgandy/black paint scheme with gold pinstriping/highlights so since I'm starting the thread I'll just start by making that suggestion. Please post your own preferences and when it looks like everyone has contributed who wants to, we'll put it to a vote and hopefully get a clear winner.

I like silver tones...being a GT and the potential for heat build-up in the cockpit, I think we should look at something a little more reflective rather than a heat-sink.  :)

BTW..we have not discussed A/C for the Roadmaster....nor do I believe there is room in the engine bay to accomodate it. Am I wrong here?

An Old English White (or similar) would also be a nice, lite colour....again in an attempt to keep the cockpit a little cooler.

A lighter shade of body colour will also allow our sponsors' names to be more visible.

Hi Jim,

Paint colour is probably the thing I struggled with making a decision over when I did the body restoration.

It was narrowed down a bit when I pickedup a set of grey leather piped green  seats,  the car had black carpets in good condition which look fine with the seats and a matching grey piped green trim kit I got specially made by Moss finished the interior offf nicely.

So the car was going to be green, but which green? I looked at load of green cars and was struggling to make a decision.

When I took the the car in for the body to be done by my body man, I described the type of green I was looking for and he pulled out a swatch book and pullled out a colour and it was exactly what I had in mind!

I am absolutely delighted as to how it turned out and  get lots of admiring comments about how beautiful it is.

Colour is a very personal thing so not everyone will necessarily agree.

The nearest to true colour is by the left hand rear lights.

The colour is Jaguar Alpine Green.

When I get to that point I'm going to do the body in a 2007 Toyota dark blue metallic, there is a 4 Runner at work painted that color and it looks great. Going to add two 10" Shelby style stripes outlined in bright red pinstripe. Saw almost that combo on a Mustang at the LA Roadster Club show on Father's Day, it was a slightly lighter shade of blue. Hope you pick mine, I want to see how it looks before I do my paint job.

Citron

Jim,

I would lean toward Maxda Artic white with Bahama Blue stipes.  Wonder why?
My other choice would be Citron with Black Stripes. (My other car)
Actually I have no opinion at all.  It just doesn't matter to me.
Good Luck.

The seating and interior are gray/black......how about painting the exterior Grampian Gray with black striping.
