Does anyone know of a logic level quad pack coil set that would work with the GM '411 ECM? Inline would be good but 2x2 would also work. They have to be logic-level which means the driver has to be packaged with the coils. Even better if it uses the LS wiring harness plug.

That's an excellent option and a decent price as well. Thanks, it might be what I end up using. (Although I was really hoping to find an inline package.)

I never had a true COP arrangement, nobody seems to make a suitable coil that can plug directly onto the plugs of a V8, especially one with the center two plugs angled towards each other. Also I don't want to use my LS coils because I can't mount them to the valve covers any more and quite frankly they are pretty ugly. I could possibly bury them below the headers on the fenderwell and I have no real idea of where I might put these 4 packs but that's one thing I should look at today. Thanks for the reference.

Quite a few who do engine swaps over here remove the COPS and replace them with wasted spark coil packs. They tend to use generic Ford versions for four and eight (two four cylinder ones) cylinder engines and for six cylinder engines a GM coil pack. Bosch Motorsport sell high spec coil packs but the one for six cylinder cars carries a part number for a couple of GM cars, whether they are selling a higher spec part for normal use or vice versa is open to question. I decided to stick with new two pin COPS after getting a very good deal on five new NGK ones from Rock Auto who only get them as warehouse clearances. When I went to order the last one they couldn't shup due to not knowing if it contained Russian steel!

Interesting. These do need to be logic-level coil packs, wasted spark is fine, though the problem with that for a V8 now that I think it through is that you have to send two wires across to the opposite bank which is the whole reason to go COP in the first place. It bears further thought. In either case it has to be a powered coil with a built in driver.

So if you wanted to use wasted spark and not cross the engine with the plug wires would it be possible?

18436572 order means 1--3-5-7 and 84-6--72. P-E-I-C is the order, and the waste spark can't be on C or I. So no, it can't be done. Firing at the beginning of the compression stroke wouldn't work, although at the beginning of the Intake stroke might. However if it lit off the charge you'd get an intake backfire and considering the overlap that just might happen.Experimental use only.

You could mount them side by side on the aluminum panel on the heater plenum behind the motor.
