Comparison from 2006.  NASCAR old school pushrod engine actually compared well against the Formula One engine.

Loved that article when I saw it awhile back. Pushrod V8 engines do have inherent advantages and they are here to stay. Have you seen that tiny pushrod V8 that Honda built for racing?

Don't forget the Mercedes/Ilmor pushrod v8 Indy motor.
It's still am amazing piece of engineering 22 or so years later.
10,500 rpm and 1024hp with pushrods! In 1994!!!

Just imagine, if they had only used carbon fiber pushing devices,( way too expensive to call "rods")....
