Well, I'm back and I've taken a couple thousand more photos...

I thought you guys might like to preview a few.

First of all... it's an awesome facility. I didn't actually take this photo - my good friend Ryan Thomas did. I barely left the paddock, except for one quick tour around the track in the media van. The front side of Pacific Raceways has an exceptionally long straightaway, but the backside is a real roller-coaster.

Incidentally, I met BritishV8ers Ken Bottini and Don Sasnett in the "Car Corral", where they were parked among MG street cars.  Ken's page of the MG Photo Gallery has only ever had four photos, so I took a bunch more and updated it. Check it out sometime:  http://www.britishv8.org/MG/KenBottini.htm

Here's one example:

I should have photographed Don's car too... I thought it was already in our gallery, but it turns out he's done three conversions and we've got an earlier one featured here: http://www.britishv8.org/MG/BobHertz.htm

So what racecars did I photograph? I've got enough photos to complete seventeen more write-ups, so I'll just give you a quick sampling here...

Innes Ireland's BRP Formula One car (circa ~1964)

Terry Buffum's Jaguar Special has a great history - originally built and successfully raced by Phil Hill's brother-in-law.

ex-Jackie Stewart Tyrrell F1 car (circa ~1972)... almost too big to fit in one JPG file!

Ginetta G12 Porsche-Slayer

Isn't this a nifty March 729 Formula Ford!
1971 MGB GT V8
Buick 215 w/ Rover heads, custom EFI & crank-fired ignition.
Custom front and rear coilover suspensions.

Curtis, you're haveing way too much fun at the races. Love the cars you give us articles on though so keep it up. Phil sent me a e-mail about his invitation to run with the SVRA group in the RV8. Thanks for making that introduction. Hopefully we can take them up on the offer soon.

Curtis - It's that back of PRW where all the action occurs. Sorry I missed you at Kent, the GRL Sonoma event left me with so repairs to make on my Healy.

Here's a fellow Healey racer at turn # 5 in Seattle.

Doug, I'm sorry we missed each other too. Perhaps next year! It was a VERY fun weekend.

One thing though, when I go back to Kent I think I'll borrow, rent, or buy a great long lens. Such a photogenic place to race...
