The Moss Motors catalog says that you must use SAE 90 oil rather than front end grease in the zyrc fittings on the steering rack.  They want $43 for a special vintage "pom pom" gun to feed this.  Does anyone have any experience in pumping 90 weight into a zyrc fitting?  Thanks

Richard,

You will probably get better feedback re MGA stuff on the MG Experience Forum, dont see why you cant use and old grease gun filled with the 90 oil, the rack shouldn't take a lot.

Not sure how much different the A rack is from the B but it's fairly common to use a syringe type needle to inject the oil in under the lip of the gaiter. Having said that, many pieces of equipment use a gun to pump in oil and having a zerk fitting is a handy thing. The above directions are good. Better grease guns will function quite well as oil guns, often by just flipping the seal over to the other side of the piston.
