I did consider that but shortening the lower links is easier than modding the bay doors and gives a cleaner result so I'll go that way. When the time comes I will probably buy a tire and get an actual measurement to let me get away from the space savers. Better to have a smidge of clearance I suspect then it being tight like it is now.

The rear treatment is something I will have to think about. I could probably make a removable trunk of some sort, maybe have it drop into sockets for example.

I'm also giving a little thought to a possible wraparound style lexan windshield with a sort of scissors hinge that would move the base forwards as it folds back to conform to and lay flat on top of the cowl area. What happens with the vent windows is a bit of a question. It might be possible to change to a side window with an angled front edge for instance, something made of lexan perhaps, or the windshield might have side flaps that can meet the side windows but I think those would hit the fenders when folded down. Or if they are hinged to the windshield they might be used to brace the windshield when it is raised.

Another issue is going to be the headlights. Clearly there will be no room for the conventional ones and some form of LED headlights seem the likely answer. And while I would like to do what I can to retain the MGB styling cues I'm starting from a very different point. The fenders can be the same up to somewhere around the midpoint of the wheel arch back to the door but forwards of that is an open question. Grille and hood are unnecessary but are they desirable? I'll have to work much of that out as I go.

Likewise the rear treatment. I have room for a gas tank and not much more behind the cockpit. I plan to see if there is any practical way to fit the OEM style tail lights. which may require some pretty creative sheet metal work to blend them into the bodywork in a way that doesn't just look weird. That may not even be possible but I plan to give it a try. The fender line doesn't match at all so all I can do is try. The removable trunk sounds like a decent enough idea, maybe something along the lines of a small Steamer Trunk. There is plenty of precedent for that and it would serve as an acceptable rear bumper as well. Might want to put some sort of key lock on it so it couldn't be carted off.
