Hi

My 76 Factory V8 came to me with a Piranha electronic ignition system. Funny but it died within a week of the Crane system dying in my 1980 MGB.

I am looking for recommendations on a replacement distributor for the V8.

I do not want to go back to points.

Thanks

Pertronics is my goto for a daily driver.
They have been around forever, so parts if you should ever need them are easy to source.
If you also use their recommended coil, I've never had one fail. And we have installed hundreds over the years.
They will also trigger most aftermarket "boxes" if you think you need a raunchier spark.
If you need a complete distributor. Then  123 Ignition is hard to beat.
They are a complete electronic distributor with selectable or programable ignition curves.
Very nice well made product. Once again used many with zero failures.

Cheers

I also use the Pertronix module in my Buick distributor.  I would not buy their distributor, though.

TA has drop in distributors that look like they are MSD clones.

It is also relatively easy to go to a distributorless ignition system with something like a programmable megaspark module and quad coil packs. Still need an oil pump drive though.
