Here are 3 newbie questions for you.  Is the floor pan of a Spitfire identical to a GT6 floor pan or are there differences?  Also, I am 6'1" tall and 215 lbs.  Can I comfortably fit in a GT6?  And finally, is the engine compartment on a GT6 larger than on a Spitfire?

Thanks

Randy, just did a bit of research.  The wiki on the GT6 says it was developed from the Spitfire, but the six cylinder required a bulge in the hood.  This *may* be similar to what happened with the MGC vs MGB (the MGC also required a bulge in the hood, but was the same (except for the engine) otherwise.

Mostly the same.  The MGC had a different crossmember with a torsion bar front suspension & different floor pans to accommodate the torsion bars.

Actually, there are many differences between MGB and MGC. Totally different inner wings. Everything around the radiator and slam panel is different. I'm not sure if there are any common parts at all between MGB and MGC brake systems... except for the rubber pads on the pedals. Telescoping vs knee-action front shocks. Different rear axle ratios. Different rear springs. Different wheel sizes. 4-lug vs 5-lug hubs. And the MGC speedometers went to 140 mph, didn't they?

140 mph speedometer?  Yes, they did.
