Needs some cosmetics, but it appears that this '54 car in Ventura runs and drives, and even stops.

Said to have been built by Healey Rick - presumably no relation - the old-skool build apparently dates back to the 60s, in which case we can presumably skate over the lack of build detail because any problems would have surfaced long ago.
Leaving aside speed humps which hadn't been thought of back then.

Worth reviving, I'd say.

Built by "Crazy Biker Rick".  Any attempt to link me with that car and I'll sue for defamation!

Lacking HealeyRick's seal of approval, it bombed.
Rnm at a measly $13,900.

If you want to take a tilt at this piece of mobile history, it's live again, here https://www.ebay.com/itm/175339937056?ViewItem=&item=175339937056&vxp=mtr

Being based in Ca., easily work twice as much....Compared to a $851k build, such a deal.

Made $22,001 this time, but that still wasn't enough... so here it is again, nearly finished and at $24,500. https://www.ebay.com/itm/175339937056?ViewItem=&item=175339937056&vxp=mtr

Usually doesn't work, keep relisting, appears this time it might pay off.

Well, $24,500 is where it finished.

Interesting to contrast that with the shiny 100-BN1 on BaT that made $60,500 and needed nothing or very little.

Ton of work to take this old fellow up to that level.

I went and saw the shiny black BN1 coincidentally also in Ventura (must be something in the water) which was listed  on Bring a Trailer and it is a frightmare - the photos do it far more justice than it deserves..

Probably one of the more dangerous nasty boys I have ever seen.  It does not have an accelerator pedal - just the stalk and the modified transmission tunnel has pushed it so far over that even with my narrow size 8 US/7 UK feet my foot was half covering the brake pedal so the only way you could drive is with your foot under the brake pedal.  The body is mondo bondo, panel gaps are atrocious and the paint job?  Well it is shiny.  The engine sounded strong but that was about it.  This is the reason you inspect cars in person or have a professional pre purchase inspection.

Well, Sprocket, who'd have thought that.
I always viewed BaT as a transparent placer to buy a car, and the seller was even driving around in it.
As you say, no substitute for seeing in the flesh.

Did you find one that's more to your taste?
