Back in the eighties they made about 35 cars like this.. It's an Austin-Healey rip-off, called Hult Healey. It's a monocoque chassis (again Healey copy) designed to take Volvo 140 series donor components. Therefore it's widened about 5 inches which gives you much desired space in the engine compartment...

I just picked this beauty up last week and I'm really excited to dig into it. It features a Rover 3500 V8 with a 4 speed gearbox and the finish looks like crap, Well, not really but it's not up to my standards. I'm leaning towards a TVR 500 V8 and transmission setup. I'll at least ponder on a seriously tuned Ford 302.. but the TVR will give me 350bhp and 350 Nm of torque which wiuld launch this 1000 kg car just fine. I'll loose the 18 inchers and the tacky roll bars for a more traditional look. If I get it to where I want it to be it'll be a crossover between a hotrod and a sportscar. Modern with a classic touch. It's all plastic fantastic anyway so it's not like I'm comitting sacrilege *LOL*

I'll prolly post my endeavours (!) in the project thread.

Good choice on loosing the Rover.. so many just love this engine...but its not all that great when you are used to hp and torque from a sbc or sbc, The ford 5.0 would be a great runner and easy cheap HP, I like your pans for this car, good luck !!

"Good choice on loosing the Rover.."

The TVR Griffith 500 V8 is a Rover based engine.  ;)

Hi!

A friend of mine is now owning this car and I'm about to make a Facebook-group showing his building project.
My intention is to use a cutted version of the first and second photos, for presenting the project.

But first I'm asking for your promission to use those photos?

Best regards
/Per

Photos... they're on a public website, and the OP has not been active here for ten years, so by all means use the photos.

I hope your friend will get the car on the road.
So many 'projects'.
