Long term thinking IF I need to, Stag swaps

Even though the car looks pretty big, it is not really.  Has anyone looked at things like a Vortec 2800 out of a Colorado? A bit more power, OD automatic, EFI etc.   Too tall?   60 degree V6 are obvious.  Seems backwards to go from an 8 to a 4, but half again the power and lighter.
