Wish I could.  I would fly up there & drive it home!

For Martyn's sake, I hope it goes for waaaay more than the current bid.

it probably would (surely would) if it weren't in Canada. Getting it over the border to the US  could be difficult. May not be doable because of the engine swap.
I see he has put a reserve on it so he won't have to give it away to the low bidder.

Shame, because that's nice car - worth every penny he was asking for here on this forum.

Mine will be listed there soon (with a reserve)

BWA

I hope it will go for more.
Last minute bidding can really change things.
From an American standpoint it looks low but when you count in the exchange rate from American to Canadian dollars that $14000.00 will end up being around $18200 Canadian.
I am sure that Martyn spent more than $18200 on that car.
It sucks but that is the reality of things.
Modified cars generally do not turn out to be money making propositions for the person that modifies the car.
The person that benefits is the person that ends up buying the car.
The other thing is the demographic shift.
The younger generation car enthusiasts are not that interested in British cars.
I visit a number of websites and youtube channels that cover the younger generation car scene  and British cars are not even on the radar screen.
Something to think about for us older guys.

Cheers

Wouldn't be a problem here in TN.

What about getting it over the US/Canada border? I hope you're right.

Excellent result for Martyn!!  Can't wait to see what Dan's goes for - although still wish it'd go to someone we know

I always feel a little sadness when someone sells their car-probably because I can imagine that day arriving for me sometime.
I cannot criticize a sale, as I do not know, or is it any of my business, the circumstances, but I feel the sadness just the same.
Dan's original TR6 project inspired me to perform my own, and I wrote him out of my will when he switched to the MG. :)
I have since touched every nut and bolt on my car, some several times, and decided every design change. All of that changed
my perspective of the car hobby from a super critical "look -  a rock chip" to one of admiring the design and execution of a car
fitting the taste of the individual, and lovingly driven and enjoyed. I like the super fine new sports cars, and hot rods, but don't have
the same attraction to them. I have used straight up or modified ideas from this group, and without those suggestions,  I would still be out there in the shop with the proverbial dumb look on my face! So, thanks for all the stolen ideas, and for those like me who are still "tweaking", or those contemplating a build, "go man, go"!
