Hi y'all

would I need front and rear flares from Dodge Omni or just the rear from my 73 MGB?

Thanks

MGBV8

The Omni flared fender cars that I am familiar with, only used the front flares from the Omni/Horizon swapped to the opposite side of the car.

You can use either... but, the fronts are a lot less work.  The rears have an inner fender/wheel well attached at the lip.  To use them on the MG, you'd need to cut that away & trim it away for a neat look & no rough edges.  10 years ago, that probably wasn't worth the effort.  Now that Omni's are a lot harder to find, it might be worth doing as one Omni while hard to find, will still be way easier to find than 2.

That said, VW rabbit flares are very similar & fenders are available new very reasonably.

Thank you for your replies - the inquiry was due to an ebay listing I found fo OMNI fender flares - check it out

What do you think?

Not the same thing.  Those are Polyurethane (plastic) bolt on flares.  Dodge Omni flares are metal & part of the fender.

Thank you for your feed back - so,  Rob mentioned using VW rabbit fenders?  Would I need only front ones? Has anyone done those on the "How its Done"  section?

There's a ton of info on Rabbit flares on this board.  Just put "Rabbit flares" in the search box in the upper right of the page and you'll get at least a dozen threads.  And yes, easiest would be to use all front fender flares - I've only seen new front fenders for sale.  Haven't seen any rear quarters discussed.

NAS1966

I have looked and tried to find  Rabbit fenders I can use - no luck  Omni forget that - so I'll try to make my own using new shett metal and bending it to suit.

Thanks for all the tips.

There are at least two on eBay currently.  But, if you have the ability to form your own, go for it.  Way less expensive that way and you can make any size you want.

I'm a firm believer in the "roll yer own" method, particularly the rear fenders. Done two sets of them now. If you were close enough I'd let you use my English wheel.
