I remember having to pass a sound test to race @ Laguna Seca in 1979 - limit was 105 db @ 10 feet, at 50% of redline....We  had to put a bit more fiberglass around the baffles, and re-mark the redline to 6,000 rpm......
104.78db..... ( the engine pulled strong from 4,500 to 9500 rpm.....)
