Yeah, it's not an aluminum floor jack.

Well I did raise my front end a little and have to admit it did look better where it was originally.  I did get the exhaust ground clearance I was looking for so I am going to leave it for now.  I expect the car will settle a little once I drive it so I will see if it lowers a bit.  I also want to drive over some speed bumps and see how much clearance I really have.

FYI, if you need to raise your MGB front end, I used these Triumph spacers from Goodparts

Order the rear spacers and they fit perfectly in the MGB springs and spring pockets.  They do raise an MGB more than advertised.  I ordered the 1/2 spacer, which raises a Triumph 7/8 and it looks like my front end came up about 1 1/4 to 1 1/5 inch.

With the car now mechanically sorted out and driving, its time to get back to this project.  The flares were bonded to the car using West Systems epoxy and pop rivets to hold them in place while the adhesive dries.  Then the rivets were ground flush.  After that set up for a couple of weeks, I began applying a layer of fiberglass filler to blend the flares to the body.

Here's a few pics of the slow progress:
