Hmmm, it looks a little bit like the car in this ad:

1971 MGB GT V8
Buick 215 w/ Rover heads, custom EFI & crank-fired ignition.
Custom front and rear coilover suspensions.

Dougie

Sebring Sprite........check it out. Most likely from the UK.

Yep ! Can't get nothing by you guys ! Pretty cool Huh ! You can get the bodies from the UK.

What is so neat about this is it gives you an enclosed car , add AC and it is like having a Spritget GT , you can use a Midget tub and build great daily driver that's loads of fun.
I think it would look great with a bugeye front end.

You can get a coupe style too , but to me it just looks like one of the hard tops you can buy other than it changes the wind screen too.
How great would that fastback look on this British Racing Green car with the yellow stripe.
Electric roll up windows I think could be done too. Just think an enclosed Bugeye Sprite all dry and air conditioned !

This look painted like the above car..............would look so good !

William, If you get power windows, then I definately want ps,pb and autopark, LOL.

B-Fast B-Strong

Hey I can't help it , I forgot how to roll down a window. LOL
Do they make cars with roll up windows any more?

J Man

I love that fastback body they have. I wonder what the shipping i to get them over here from the UK?

B-Fast B-Strong

I shiver to think ! I once checked on some sebring wings and they wanted more than the part. If I was going to guess I would think it would think it would cost 2000 to 2500 for one shipping and all. I may have to find out I like it so much , maybe the next project  !

Dougie

A brand new big Healey steel chassis only cost 750 GBP in freight to get it to the states from the UK. I know that glsss shell weights a lot less! I love the looks of it.

I like it's looks too , maybe I will find out what is cost to ship one day, but I have my plate full right now.
Here is a picture of that body mounted on the chassis. Hey there's a useful purpose for that old worn mattress ! Cradling your most precious baby ! :-)

That guy is doing some beautiful work !

I have a question. I picked up a later Midget tub for the disc brake parts, it is real solid. Would one of these bodies fit on that tub? I thought I heard that the basic tubs were the same but can't remember for sure.

Bill Young

Yes, Jason, that body could be fitted to the Midget tub. There's some difference in the shape of the rear quarter panels, so you'd need something like the complete top and rear section that's available. Check out the options here. http://www.sebringsprite.com/price_list.htm

B-Fast B-Strong

Yes it works and Bill just put up a link where you get that body and they want 780 pounds for it that is 1142.85 US as of right now !
Shipping to US who knows maybe you can get it shipped for 5 or 6 hundred.
You can buy a fiberglass bugeye bonnet local , here in the US, for around 600 and there you go!
Midget doors will take a little work , but if you can't do body work , better leave this one alone unless you have the money to pay someone who can.

You got one of these!

Get one of these !

The tub I have is missing the doors also so I would need a pair of those. It was one of those deals where it had the disc brake parts I needed attached to it and it was cheaper to take the whole thing, compared to getting it one bay as the guy needed the room and wanted it out of his way.

Sadly I have never worked with glass before so I would need someone to help in that area, good thing is that I do have friends that can do it.

B-Fast B-Strong

It is not so much having to work the glass, you really just glue that on, no you don't use Elmers it's a special glue. The hard part is removing all the rear outer sheet metal off the Midget. You end up with this :

This would be a good time to put a roll cage in if you want it.
You need to add a panel and round the top of the B pillar.

Henderson003-web.gif

The panel gives a place to glue the fast back as you can see it adds strength.
This is the same thing you have to do when you put the fiberglass bugeye sprite rear end on a Midget.

The end product looks great if you do a good job like this:

YF007.jpg

It may be good you don't have the doors because you can get some MK1 doors rather than having to rework the Midget roll up window doors,

J Man

I saw earlier where you said that a Midget could be used, I guess it pays to reread things sometimes. I looked the site over a little bit I will have to spend more time on it this weekend when it is raining.

B-Fast B-Strong

That's okay I don't repeating myself.

That's okay I don't repeating myself.

So it's raining there, been hot here ! Are you in construction or some kind of outside work? My life has been crazy for about a month, ever had one of those days that lasted a month? Like the wheels falling off everything at once , fix one thing and something else happens. I think I need a vacation and just get away ! Trying to get in my shop and take my mind off things , just can't find the time for chasing my tail........just damn !
