Havent been on here for a while. Late last year I had a lot of issues with the car mainly with oil surge/pressure problems.
After the Big end failure in June last year i fitted the later intermediate timing cover with the crank driven oil pump and a Davies craig EWP. Straight away i was having problems with low oil pressure under medium to hard cornering. Was using the same sump/pickup so couldn't work out why. I tried fitting a big wing trap doored sump which improved things slightly but still not good.
Would like to have fitted a dry sump but space was too tight so as a compromise fitted an Accusump which seems to have solved the problem. Now have 2 Gopro cameras so video quality is improved.

Here are the latest upgrades, a rear Wing and front splitter. Yet to be tested on track.

Update.
Modifications are underway to fit these,

Jenvey 45mm throttlebodies together with a Canems ECU
Hoping for superior power delivery and throttle response.

The guys doing the conversion, http://www.lloydspecialistdevelopments.co.uk/ have managed to get it running and done some mapping on the road. Next step is a Rolling road session on Tuesday 3rd Sept so hopefully should get a power run and will post the dyno sheet.
Not expecting big gains in top end but throttle response and pickup should be improved.
Spec is 96mm bore, std 4.6 crank, forged pistons, Merlin F85 heads, Roller rockers, Mechanical 238 cam. 10.5:1 CR

Had to fit an uprated clutch as it started slipping on the rolling road. Re visited the RR today for final mapping and power runs.
Very happy with the results.

Hello all, Haven't posted for a while.
Been very busy with upgrades. Mainly the rear suspension conversion to 4 trailing links with coilover shocks and a mumford linkage which seems to work very well indeed.
Just finishing an engine swap to a 5.0L rover short stroke with TA cylinder heads, 248 mechanical cam and throttle bodies.
The car is fighting against me though, as everything seems to have a knock on effect resulting in un expected work.
I should be starting the engine for the first time soon and once mapped will see if it has all been worth it.
There doesn't seem to be a lot of info about these heads. Has anyone published bhp figures? cant seem to find any reviews.

Mark, What did you do to upgrade the rear axles, posi?

Jim,
I am using the MGB axle with quaife LSD. Also have had some special half shafts made which I am assured will cope with the abuse.
I re designed the area above the axle as you can see in this pic.

Its difficult to get a decent photo but this one gives an idea of what I did.

Also I had to re design the fuel tank. It now sits upright behind the mumford link.



It was a lot of head scratching!

Not a lot of info yet on the TA heads. Art has a set but hasn't run them yet, looks like you get to be the pioneer, so we are very interested in your impressions and results. Nice work.

Latest problem is that my alternator doesn't clear the new heads as casting is different than the previous merlins (was very close anyway). Getting very close to starting the engine for the first time. Should have some rolling road info early in January.

Looking good Mark! Interesting valve covers, I hadn't seen those before. Did you consider the TA ones, or just have those on hand?

Jim, I had the covers made by these people http://jrcast.com/  you can choose up to 10 letters. Thought I would be a bit different.
