Here you go, Mark. My friend said this info comes from the "Book of Norman". For those not in the know (myself included), this is the all-time best resource book for Sunbeam Tigers. Cars are judged based on the contents of this book.

Mark 1 cars: VIN B9470001 to (approx) B382000600: semi-gloss or gloss black
Mark 1A cars: VIN B382000601 to end of production: Old Ford Dark Blue
Mark 2 cars: Original 289 cars (only about 500 built): Old Ford Dark Blue

Ahh...the $64,0000 question. According to my friend, it's been out of print for some time and copies have been known to go for up to $900 on Ebay. I've never seen it. I think my friend keeps it under lock-and-key.

I'll PM you his email address and you two can talk Tigers.
