OK my fault for not posting this before the fact but that's mitigated by it being an annual event that by now most of us within reach know about. It also just happens to be my annual Birthday Party that the nice folks of the BCCofGreaterCincinnati throw for me each year so I've gotta thank them for that. This year they were only 2 days late, WooHoo! But that doesn't matter because I celebrate for at least a week.
So this year Dan and Steve and Mike and Phil came to the house and we hung out mostly in the shop in preparation for the party, ate birthday cake and ice cream, ate beef stew, drank beer and in general had a great time then loaded up and went to the show where we met up with Denny Williams, Mike Pagano, and Aaron who is of course one of the organizers. On Thursday and Friday, Steve had helped me bring out the Bay Car and put the new tires on it and we had a bit of fun playing with that until Phil suggested that we take it to the show since my MGB wasn't ready but was registered. We all liked the idea in spite of it being a bad one or maybe because of that, so after an extended discussion of "How?" we hitched the trailer up to the Lincoln Blackwood truck and winched it up on the bed. This by itself involved a fair amount of hilarity in spite of the surprising level of organization. Not saying which direction that level went you understand. Some beer may have been involved.

Next morning after a hearty breakfast of Birthday Treats we went up to Fairfield where we proceeded to take over the show in the Blackwood tradition, or at least our own corner of it. Obviously we "owned" the Modified section which once again was directly in front of the main building and across from the ampitheater and pond. We kicked off the craziness by pulling the rig right in and unloading directly in front of our designated area where we attracted a crowd that didn't really abate much until the festivities were over. I'll confess to wandering off for awhile and leaving Denny to answer questions but for the most part I think he enjoyed that.

To say everyone was awe stricken might be stretching the truth a smidge but it's certainly fair to say that none of them expected this. In the end, Dan and Phil walked away with the prizes (they give away glass beer mugs in 3 sizes, one of each captured by us) even though Dan chose to park his modified TR4A-IRS with a different group. Or maybe because of that probably. At any rate we managed to cause more confusion during the load-out but I don't think anyone got mad at us so it was a resounding success.
