Title: Hi There, Newby Here
Post by: Stryper on April 28, 2026, 02:05:17 PM
Not my first B's but these 2 have v6 conversions. The burgundy has 2.8v6 with a 700r4 automatic, was built for a now deceased wife in late 90's, and to my knowledge he was an engineer at Nasa, a Mr.Paul Scoggins.

The red one is a 3.4/T5 built in 2013-4 by a Mr.William King on east coast, using a BMC Kit. Being Mr. King is dead and Mr. Scoggins is sailing the world, i am unable to get any info on either build.

That said both were out of action for 2-3 yrs each best my knowledge. And required the usual refurbs, tires, tanks, some brakes and susp etc.

Anyhow thats my story and sticking to it for time being. Both get driven regularly and the 2.8/Auto is just the most fun to drive, best description is it reminds me of a BMW Z3. The 3.4/t5 is more like a social security cobra.

Got to be a story behind that somewhere, care to entertain us with it? Scroggins sounds familiar. I expect someone here knows him.
