Title: I drove my MGB in the snow this morning...

Man, I needed that bad. This cold and everlasting snowfall has pretty much kicked my ass this time around. No, no pretty much about it, it has. If I don't start going south for the winters and get out of here I just might die from it. I'm serious, my long term survival depends on it. That bus is going on the road this summer for sure.

So anyway it was just between the Lab and the house, not more than 150 yards and I had to make 3 trips because after the first one I found out the battery in the truck had gone flat so I had to go back after the charger. But I really needed to get in that car and fire it up. Even more, with the roads now clear I need to get out and run some errands. It wasn't easy, even with the temps coming up yesterday there's still a good six inches of snow on the driveway out to the lab and if I didn't have god ground clearance I'm not sure it would have worked. But it did, and the trip back was of necessity at speed since it is uphill all the way. Yea Rooster Tails right? At least there is no salt.

So I've put on a second cup of tea and fired up the old stove, moved some things around, tidied up a little, and the truck is going on the lift for some much delayed maintenance. Suspension air bags and brakes. Maybe bump stops if I can find them. It's been making objectionable noises. I've got about a week to sort that out then a trip up to Moser in the B for gear setup.

I've gotta get moving again. I've had too much of this sitting around trying to keep from being cold.

It took two visits to the USA (California June 1986 and Minnesota November 1993) before I realised how many retired people head north from Florida and Texas to the mountains to escape the summer heat. Likewise the number from the northern states that head south in the winter to those very same areas. In the UK we haven't had a dry day for five weeks with the temperatures often around 40F, the last week or so it has been nearly 50F before going back down this weekend. Although 40F is balmy compared to what you are getting it is a humid 40F which is much colder to the body than a crisp frosty morning, good that you got out though.
