Title: GT Project for Sale (Central North Carolina)
Post by: Airwreckc on July 27, 2025, 03:23:21 PM
After spending a lot of time and money accumulating all the necessary pieces for a nice V8 B-GT, it looks like we are going to be permanently moving abroad in January and after much handwringing, we have decided it makes sense to really downsize what we will be moving. Therefore, grudgingly, I'm planning on putting my V8 GT project up for sale. I thought I'd reach out to you to see if anyone who is looking for a pretty good starting point for their V8 project. I have not started any of the fabrication, but really have nearly everything someone would need to make a really nice GT. I have the following major pieces:
- a rust free1972 GT shell
- several new and used front fenders and a rear convertible clip (my plan was to use the sheet metal to widen the front and rear fenders)
- a MGC aluminum bonnet
- a Rover 3500 engine (needs rebuilding)
- a Buick 300 engine with a spare 350 crank, original aluminum heads (also needs rebuilding)
- TA 2150 Buick heads (brand new, will need valvetrain, etc.)
- Rover EFI system and intake manifold (used)
- TR-3650 5 speed transmission (with billet shifter) bult to performance standards by Hanlon Motorsports (also have the proper bellhousing and clutch mechanism)
- Narrowed Ford 8" rear end (will need new axles, as currently set up for wire wheels)
- Hoyle front suspension complete (brand new)
- Custom 5-link rear suspension for Ford 8"
- Front disc hubs and rotors (five bolt, Ford pattern) custom for MGB--to fit the Hoyle suspension
- Fiero seats with custom leather covers (brand new, not installed)
- Front valance (flexible plastic, custom for MGB)
- Lots of used stainless exhaust pipe (was planning to custom fabricate the exhaust--no mufflers included)

That's all I can remember, but I'm sure I've missed some things. Of course, I'd rather sell it all together, even though it's probably worth more piecemeal. Reasonable offers considered. I'm located in central North Carolina.  PM me to discuss.  Thanks.

Eric, this forum requires that you include a for sale price for any posting of for sale items. Sorry, them's the rules.

Price for everything--$12,000 or a reasonable offer.  Might consider selling some of the pieces separately, but would prefer selling it all together.

Also would consider a good Jeep Liberty (KK) Limitedor or Jeep Renegade Trailhawk in trade (or partial trade).

UPDATE:  This i what I currently have.  I'm open to offers.

- Buick 300 V8 engine with a spare 350 crank (if you want to stroke the engine), with original aluminum intake manifold and heads (I believe the engine is a runner).
- NASCAR connecting rods (I have the specs for matching pistons).
- Rover EFI system and intake manifold (used).
- Tremec TR-3650 5 speed transmission with adapter for included Buick bellhousing (with billet shifter) built to high performance standards by Hanlon Motorsports (also have the clutch mechanism).  This transmission is much stronger that any of the T-5 variants and has been upgraded for improved shifting.
- Narrowed Ford 8" rear end (may need new axles if you don't want wire wheels).
- Custom 5-link rear suspension for Ford 8".
- Fiero seats with custom genuine leather covers (brand new, not installed).
