I just bought this Buick 215. The block decodes to a 1963. But I don't recognize the front cover and the harmonic balancer. It is possible these two parts are off of an early Rover 3500 engine? Please see the picture and note that the timing boss is on the fuel pump side - whereas on a Buick 215 this timing boss would be on the oil pump side of the harmonic balancer.
Any help is appreciated!

That looks like the "300" cover to me. With a high volume pump mod.
Could be wrong, Jim B would know for sure.
Good call on the Buick 300. I took the harmonic balancer off and decoded the timing cover part number. It did turn out to be a Buick 300 cover. The harmonic balancer is also Buick 300.
Since this has a Buick 300 harmonic balancer - I am speculating that the crank is also Buick 300. Is this a common modification for the Buick 215?
Yes, 215 stroker engine using a Buick 300 crank, along with the harmonic balancer & flywheel since it is externally balanced.
