Title: For Sale: Rebuilt High performance 1962 Buick 215 V8

Motor ID: HI410748 and 312525124: Hi compression 4 bbl: 11.0 to 1 Compression, 190 Horsepower.

Motor came out of a 1962 Skylark 2-door hardtop. Car was purchased with 80k on the OD. The OD was working when I bought the car.

Rebuild specs:

Motor had the cylinder ridges cut and was honed.
New Rings, rod and main bearings. Cam bearings were checked and OK, and not touched per Dan LaGrou, (D&D) recommendations.

Block suction oil galleries drilled out to .50" bore, corners chamfered. The oil pan is from D&D for a Chevy Vega conversion kit.

Camshaft kit is Isky #625270, 270˚ cam with Isky lifters, pushrods and springs and keepers.

Cylinder heads rebuilt by RidgeReamers in Arvada CO.

Distributor rebuilt and has Mallory Hi-RPM points.

Motor includes a Delco Alternator.

Negotiable items: D&D pan hugger Aluminum nose starter and Holley 390 CFM carb with vacuum secondaries.

Shipping: I prefer local pickup. Over-the-road transit will require a $150 crating fee to the shipper of your choice. The shipper must have a dropoff local to Boulder CO.

Asking price for this motor is $2490.

Act now and I will include a 390 Holley 4bbl and the D&D starter.

Roger, with all due respect, you will have a hard time getting even half that for your motor. I know you have a lot in it but that's steep.

Personally, I don't think that price is way out of line. Engine rebuild costs can get quite high depending on new parts and machine shop time. Around my neck of the woods, $2500 might get you an average rebuild and that does not include cost of the original engine.

Thanks for the input/comments.

I do have a bunch of $ in the motor. I am not desperate to sell it. I have 30+ years of experience with these motors and all of that knowledge went into this motor. I have been selling Buick parts on Ebay for 3+ years now, with excellent ratings for telling the truth and shipping stuff on time. "rfsmith48"

Maybe I should do this:

Hello Rog.

Do you still have that Buick 215 v8?
I might be very interested, that is of course if its left when I got the cash and time, wich will be around may-june.
But I shall have an eye here, to see if its still left by then!
