Title: Not Quite a Morgan 3 Wheeler
Post by: roverman on December 28, 2020, 02:54:30 PM
First off, best of Seasons Greetings to all my friends of BV8.
Back burner project, just got moved up, in priority.  As many of you may know, I really dig aluminum. I always wanted an all-
aluminum car.  Not too many car bodies in my price range,(aluminum). Thinking outside the harbor, I fetched a 12' aluminum boat.
Just big enough. What makes it float on water, would tend to do same in air, so "invert". Extend the, new bottom 6-8", to get
enough cross-section, ( flat bottom). VW, aluminum, twin tube/trailing link, front suspension. Alum., spindle mount wheels, ( 2 in
front).  One wheel pusher, in back. Engine/6 spd. trans is Suzuki Bandit, 2016 1250S, with alum swing arm. Alum. wheel is 6" x
17", should be wide enough. Projected dry weight  is under 800 lbs. It's a 3 seater, with pilot centered/front. In CA., this will be
registered as a home built motorcycle.
                                                                                        Onward, Art.

Great.
Something different.
There was a rather natty boatmobile sold on BaT a few months ago.
Impressive that you can register it in over-zealous CA.

Thanks Ivor,
Haven't seen a driving/capsized boat, on the road before. "Boat tailed Speedsters", not quite the same.  I see this as a minimalist,
    vehicle/ boat thinghy.

Art - when are you going to post some pictures of all the crazy stuff you talk about here? You know the old saying  "If you can't see it, it doesn't exist".
