Title: Block-huggers, Fast Cars Inc??
Post by: jarred on February 12, 2020, 08:01:01 PM
I've been slowly installing a Ford 5.0 in my '73 TVR.  It's all in with Jag rear end and custom axles.  I bought a set of MGB-V8 block huggers from Fast Cars Inc. a few years ago when I started and now I need the oblong gaskets for the down pipes.  Two question: 1) Anybody else use these headers and know where to get the gaskets? 2) Tried emailing and calling fast cars, no response to email and their phone number is disconnected. Any idea of what happened to them?

They changed hands a few years back. We're you using the number from this link?

Yes, but no response to email either?  Are they in business?  They used to be a sponsor of this forum.

They are definitely in business.  But, isn't it just a flat flange that gets bolted together to connect the header to the down pipe elbows?  If so, why not just buy some exhaust gasket material and cut your own.  Local auto parts store should have some.  An example would be Mr. Gasket 5961.

On my car, they used silicone to seal the flange, and also on the header flange to the heads.
