Title: Is it Tiger or Alpine?
Post by: 88v8 on August 28, 2019, 04:14:37 AM
Debate on Bat about a 'Tiger' for sale.
Looks likely to be not expensive.

Non-original 302 + auto.

Price scarcely off the ground amidst a chorus of moans and groans.
May be a real bargain for someone who wants a driver, and is not bothered about originality.
No reserve.
Five days to go.

Sold for $24k which seems to be a snip.
Awful lot of debate about its TIgerness. Tiger owners certainly take it all very seriously.

In contrast, a nearly matching numbers car [with non-original stick] sold on BaT for $133,000.
A good listing and a good auction with a lot of informed comment.

OK, it was more shiny, and a 'one of fifteen' GT, but it might be regarded as a lot of money for some serial numbers.
