Title: Anyone give me info on adaptor plate to install Disc brakes on my Stag
Post by: JonB on September 08, 2016, 11:24:38 PM
Can anyone give me the best donor for rear brake disc conversion on my 71 stag. I have seen Mustang II mentioned and was not sure if a mounting plate was needed. I have purchased Monarch aluminum for the front, but want to find an alternative for the rear.
I'm in North Carolina. Thanks, Jon(new member)

Jon - I don't know much about Stags, but based on a quick Google search, they have a semi-trailing arm style independent rear suspension.  I'd share some pics with folks here as it's possible they use parts common to the TR-6 for which there is a proven path to convert to disk brakes on the rear.

Forget mustang Ii.  When folks are talking about that, they are talking about front suspension, not rear.

Think Tbird

Wait, is the Stag the same rear as a 6?

If the Stag is like the TR6, Calvin Grannis and Don Watson have posts on here about upgrading to Nissan discs on the rear.
