About ready to toss this al. lump in the trash.
New 4.0 block and fairly new heads.
Putting this thing together and the heads have been torqued down for a couple of months.
Have to remove one to send back to Woody to check a receding valve.
Removed all the nuts on the ARP studs and 9 of the washers. 1 is stubborn and won't slide off. It will rotate put that can't be the reason for my frustration.
The frickin head will NOT come off.
Next step is to get out my biggest sledge hammer and beat the crap out of it....
Can you double nut the stud and take it out, that's what I have to do when the top of the bolt hole caves in on the stud.
Trying some top hat washers this time. ( washer has a 1/4" tube that gets pressed into a stepped hole at the top of the bolt hole ).
Woody says just pull all the studs...just easier.
So I'll get my socket allen tool and go to work
Although I hate torqueing bolts in alloy, I guess there's a reason the factory used bolts.
V8
Real busy getting ready to jet out for a while and had a minute to pull the studs.
My allen socket is 1/4 drive and boy was it a bear to turn.Gave up when I couldn't find my 1/4-3/8's
Will work on it later
