Sorry to report that the McConnell clan will not be in attendance this year. Hope you all have sunshine and lots of fun.
Phil, we'll hoist a Dickel Toast in your honor :-).
Dan, I will be there but don't know about who else or the car yet. So I submitted the form (and payment) for regalia and will follow up later with the registration form. Don't know yet if I will be solo.
Jim
Dan, "The check is in the mail". I thought she did it, She thought I did it, truth is Nobody did it. We are still trying to locate Nobody, cause if Nobody did it why did you not get it.
charles
unless a schedule change happens, and it sometimes does, Brenda and I will be in Europe that week..
I did leave Brenda in Paris one year to attend the event and I was sick by the time i arrived in Townsend. I caught a bug on the plane.
and my V6 cooling fan broke,
So I think I'd better behave in 2016
If our schedule changes I'll register asap

Payment sent!
Thank you Dan & Jim for organizing this event. Really looking forward to it!
I posted this on that other forum.
-------------------
Dan, you know I'll be there. This is our 20th annual Meet! And, my 19th.
Rich (& Lorna, I think) Moor. He reserved the Bunk House for us.
Max Fulton asked me if we had room for him.
Add me to the list! I am also planning on the bunkhouse.
The Grannis family at this point in time will not be in attendance this year! But that doesn't mean for sure we will not attend, schedules can change at the last minute with us. Have a great get together as always, will miss seeing everyone.
I know it's a looong haul for you & Brenda, but you would love the roads, scenery, & people. The same for West Virginia next year.
If you can manage a shorter schedule, consider flying to Knoxville & renting a new Camaro (convertible if possible). ;)
I'm in! Completed & paid the registration on-line. As usual, I'll be coming with Scott. See you all there.
Event note: The Wednesday night music will be provided by a group of regular jammers from here in Townsend and the surrounding area. Music will be old-time songs performed on dulcimers, fiddles, banjos, guitars, hammered dulcimers, concertina, upright bass, bodhran, and who knows what else. I'm in with banjo and guitar, but don't let that keep you from coming!
Good for you Mickey!
Don't know if I can add anything but I'll bring along my dobro just in case.
Jim
Yep - bring it!
I just found this place (British V8) a few days ago and I've been toying with the idea of attending the meet in Townsend. I'm not sure how this group would receive a beer guzzling, bourbon swigging, ex-biker. I've been to quite a few biker rally's and after a hard day of riding we sit around the parking lot passing the bottle and telling stories. If this is a wine and cheese type of group I'm not going to be a very good fit. I realize that this is a little abrupt but I've been searching through past threads and can't seem to get a handle on this group
QuoteI'm not sure how this group would receive a beer guzzling, bourbon swigging, ex-biker
Sounds like you'd fit right in - there are a couple of misdirected misfits in our group that are into the likes of Dickel, but most of us are beer drinkers.
There are no trophies or awards handed out, just a lot of tire kicking and lie swapping and the occasional contest (autocross, go-karting, track time,) - every year promises something different.
So commit to a good time and send in your registration to Dan.Masters
Never mind! Graham knows "Water's for bath'in, and Dickel's for drink'in!" Tony, you'll never notice our extra 2 wheels, once you experience our Parking Lot. Come on Down!

Tony,
If you're "genteel" enough to drive an MGB, yet "rowdy" enough to put 530hp in it, you'll probably fit right in. Most of us fall mid-range between the common (mis)perceptions of "wine and cheese" and "biker."
Even though it's Mothers Day, WAW has plans for the weekend with one of our daughters, so I guess I'm in. But you have to understand I'm a Yuengling and Red Stag type of guy, (but that moonshine, there's some good sipping whiskey) I don't talk a whole bunch but I can laugh and joke with the best of them. Not shy just have a hard time putting a story together since the stroke in 2007.
I just finished registration and I think I got the last room. 2 queen beds if anyone wants to take the extra one it's open. Male or Female, Don't worry I don't play that game, or any games for that matter.

I'll take a wild ass guess that there ain't no B-cam in that mill....looking forward to seeing another sbf in the fold, Tony!
Welcome aboard Tony! You will fit right in with this group...
We have our due compliment of bikers and ex-bikers. Wouldn't expect any difficulty.
Jim
OK...I wrote out the check and will be mailing in our registration tomorrow (4/7).
I had planned to be there but won't be able to make it.
Have two rooms booked in the old section of the Tally Ho (the Original Eight). I'll be cancelled the reservation in the next day or two. If anyone wants them, get in touch.
Phil
I've sent in my registration, bought plane tickets, and recruited a co-driver! I'll be joined by my very good friend Don Moyer, who also joined me for (part of) the 1998 meet in Annapolis. I'll fly into DC and celebrate Mothers Day briefly. Then, Donnie and I will enjoy the road trip to Townsend together. We haven't found a suitable car just yet. Still scheming.
I'm really looking forward to seeing you guys!
Great News Curtis, look fwd to seeing you!. Have a safe trip.
Great to hear Curtis! Looking forward to seeing you as well. It's been too long.

Nice car!
Carl, saw what you were trying to do so I got curious.

Thanks, Scott!
I still can't figure out why I could not scale that pic with BB Code. Did you use HTML or BB Code?
HTML. Here's what I used. Take the spaces on the ends out. The aspect ratio isn't quite right but close enough.
< img src="http://www.motorstown.com/newsImages/chevrolet-camaro-convertible-1.jpg" width="740" height="480" / >
Cool, I was unaware that we could just throw out HTML here. That is why I was trying to do it with the BB Code brackets.
This is the size from Google Images. The one from the website was way to large for here.
<img src="http://www.motorstown.com/newsImages/chevrolet-camaro-convertible-1.jpg" width="518" height="300" />
If you resize it like this, the original aspect ratio is maintained.

Cool! I hate it when people just bring in outside images that go beyond the margins of the website. ...so hard to read/view.
Yep. Plus, I do not want to "steal" a pic & then resize & upload it. So I prefer to link to it. Seems legal to me. :)
Lisa and I rented one of those Camaro convertibles for a day last fall. Enjoyed it!
Carl and Scott....I would love to jump in and contribute to the "resize, BB code, aspect ratio, etc. conversation but the truth is, I have no clue...chuckle..

Engine is running perfect again, new tires on all 4 corners, and 4 wheel alignment. I dropped it off at Eldred Hot Rod this morning to have it final buffed and polished and new mirrors installed. I'm not sure if I want to drive it down to Townsend or haul it in my trailer. The weather up here has been pretty cold and wet, not very conducive to driving this hot rod around. It's a 10 hr drive south from here and having ridden to Florida and back at least a dozen times during this time of year I know I'm going to hit some weather that I really don't want to be in. Anybody know what the weather has been like in that area, I was talking to a OFOPOS Brother that lives about 20 minutes west of Townsend and he said he's only been out on his bike a few times this year. I could pull down to my brothers in Harrisonburg VA and drive in from there but that add 2 hours to the trip. I hate having options because I always make the wrong choice.
If you stop in Harrisonburg, be sure to go to Jess's for some chili dogs! If I thought they'd make it in the mail, I'd have you send me some!
Tony -
The weather here in Townsend has been absolutely great. Current predictions are for low to mid 80's for the highs, and mid to upper 50's for the lows. Looking forward to seeing everyone!
Mickey
Jess's Lunch! Across from the courthouse.

Looking forward to seeing old friends and meeting any new folks

That's the one Dan -- best chili dogs around. I also used to like Spanky's but looks like it closed some time back. Of course, JM's pub & deli was another favorite spot!
10-day forecast - looking pretty good! https://weather.com/weather/tenday/l/37882:4:US
My Dad informed me yesterday that I had not yet registered. Thought for sure I had, but obviously not. Registration is now complete. Looking forward to seeing y'all Sunday.
Al
Gee Alan....you are going to have to be more timely on this registration stuff...you may put a blemish on the Tipp City contingent...chuckle...
Anybody staying for the show on the following weekend May 13 - 16 put on by Blount British Cars LTD
There will be a few of us.
(But then, we live here!)
Dan,
That ugly "Murphy's Law" has once again re-arranged my calendar and I will not be attending this year.
I was really looking forward to attending my first BV8 Meet and the Bluegrass entertainment!
Please enter my name for next year.
Gary Rosema
PS: I cancelled my res at the Tally Ho if anyone is lookin...
Gary,
Sorry to hear that, but we'll see you next year.
