Title: Suspension
Post by: Thor on November 22, 2015, 04:16:58 PM
I had posted about wanting a 55 or 56 Healey to build. Now I'm thinking that the way to go would be a Jules frame, rack and pinion and all new metal, probably not a whole lot more than spending $25K plus, for a 53-55 car in decent shape. What are some suspension options? I'll be using a LS3 and Tremec TKO600. I'd like a coil over suspension and wouldn't mind pin drive hubs.

Let me rephrase that, what could I use for A arms, uprights, etc.? Anyone ever use Corvette IRS and front uprights and arms?

There's this one:  http://www.hotrod.com/cars/featured/113-0703-custom-austin-healey-v8/  If you are going a more custom route, take a look at Bill McMahon's car:  http://forum.britishv8.org/read.php?4,18606  He built his own tube frame set up with his own suspension parts and small block Ford.  He then hung his old Healey body parts on the frame.  Kind of like a Factory Five Healey.
