Title: TVR M series hub and Brake mods
Post by: slow_M on October 04, 2008, 02:19:07 PM
Here's the modification I'm carrying out to the rear hub/brake on my 1975 TVR M series.
The change is from drum to disk and from a U-joint to CV while increasing the load capacity of the stub axle.

Interesting.  Do you have any pics of what you did to switch from u-joints to CV's?

Rob,
The only piece left that is "as supplied" from TVR in these pictures is the cast upright. All the other parts in the pictures are from Nissan 240 except for the two aluminium adapter plates which are custom. I'm using a Toyota Supra Diff and will have custom axles made.

Got it, that makes sense.  I'd like to see pics of the IRS out of the car if you have any.  The IRS for my MGB also uses a Nissan 240 diff (actually a Skyline diff, but the housing is the same as the 240 used -- R200S).  The unit I have was made by Todd Budde.  Uses a custom carrier, upright & control arms & S10 hubs (picked to match my wheel lug pattern).

Is the setup the same as the TR6 swap using Nissan 240sx calipers?  What did you end up using for rotors?

1) no idea (it's homegrown to my design)
2) 240SX calipers & rotors & hub & CVs
