Absolutely insane!!!
You wonder how many fans die or are seriously injured by these out of control cars.

Cheers

Guess if everybody is driving that way it becomes the only way to win.
Come to think of it haven't rally drivers always driven that way?

The fans are as crazy as the drivers!!
My favorite is where the car goes into what looks like a bunch of vines and keeps on going taking out power poles, the lines fall down and arc on the bushes.

Carl, THANKS for posting
I really liked the one where the car slammed the wall corner, the guy standing there seemed unaware of how close his end was.
I rode as nav. a couple time. Guess what, the nav. is looking at the route book most the time, talk about trust, Or insanity, the pump is off the charts. Always wanted to wear a heart monitor.
Worked several Cherokee rallies close by, 128 miles on some of the most impossible roads. The Dragon is a cake walk.
Once had one of the leaders left the route about 900 hundred feet up, his radio dispatch was heard to sound like "Is this ******* thing going to ever stop flipping. It did , 900 feet down in many parts.

Very reminiscent of the annual Targa Newfoundland - always someone ending up in the harbour , or worse. Here's one example

There's usually at least one spectacular accident each year.
Here's a couple of photos from a crash in Marystown in 2009, a father/son team from New York.   If the steel bulkhead had been cut off at ground level they would have ended up in 10+ feet of water in the harbour.  I volunteeered with the Stage Operations Crew that year and am planning on returning in 2015.

Here's one that will make you pucker. Why would anyone watch a race on the outside of a curve? Nothing bad ever happens there! http://mpora.com/articles/crazy-rally-crash-unharmed#yupzjHHzMkWQ2VX4.97
