Title: Lotus Seven S3
Post by: jmahall on December 15, 2014, 12:33:46 PM
I'm looking for documentation, period rule book, anything that would prove the Series 3's were raced as production cars anytime up to 1971.

I'm sure they were, just need the proof.

Thanks

Jack

My first reaction was: "Who would possibly doubt that!"

Are you specifically looking for an SCCA classification, or could it be from any racing club? (overseas clubs, etc.)

Do you know Craig Chima? He's a friendly resource for Lotus racing questions. Wouldn't hurt to phone him.

(Craig personally races an earlier Seven, and has swapped engines around to run it in different SVRA classes.)

We are in contact with Craig, Thanks

SCCA appartently didn't list (or allow) the S3 till sometime after 1971.

Our issue is to show the S3 running somewhere prior to 1972 with the Ford Rear end  which had   8" rear brakes.
