Title: Let's Win Moss Motors' 2014 Club Spirit Award
Post by: Moderator on May 14, 2014, 07:13:23 PM
You should consider participating in Moss Motors' 2014 Motoring Challenge. It'll be fun. (Here's a link to their rules.)

I've just noticed that Moss has included a "Club Spirit" award this year. We have an obvious disadvantage because we've always been an "un-club". (No dues. No meetings. No politics. Etc.) But we're highly spirited! And some of us even travel with spirits. And Moss loves us renegade privateers - more than you probably know. I think we should try to win this thing.

Now, we're smaller than a lot of clubs. We'll only win if we get a lot of BritishV8 enthusiasts to work together. How?

Firstly: if you participate in the Moss Motors' 2014 Motoring Challenge, please put "BritishV8" in the Club Affiliation blank on your entry form. You can put multiple clubs there if you want to. Just remember to include BritishV8.

Secondly: when taking your shapshots for the challenge, show off a BritishV8 sticker along with "The cover of the 2014 Motoring Challenge Guide" (as per the rules). Trust me... you'll look smart!

Remember: just about every scavenger hunt objective you need to win the Motoring Challenge may be found on the way to or during our BritishV8 2014 annual meet.

Finally: why not post your snapshots here? It'll help other people get/stay fired-up to win.

Lisa is REALLY getting into this! We scored enough photos yesterday for a Moss t-shirt, and we'll get more today. We've gotten "waterfall", "dude ranch" and "ski resort with snow" and we think we're gonna get a "covered bridge" today. "Duck crossing sign" might be tough to find on this trip. I'll post photos when we get home.

As you take photos, post them here.

Bottom line: your co-pilots are going to really enjoy this contest!

There are LOTS of different ways to score in Moss Motors' Motoring Challenge! You can pose with your car by signs at U.S. states or Canadian provincial border crossings. (Though our plans for this weekend didn't include leaving Colorado.) Or you can collect counties... one for each letter of the alphabet. Or you can collect town names, one for each letter of the alphabet. Or national forests. Or national parks. Or car shows. Or any of a list of 41 miscellaneous "destination" types. Most of those are worth one point each, but some are worth more.

Okay... I'm ready to post some snapshots from just one weekend in Colorado.

One more photo for now...

Tips

1) I heartily recommend laminating your Moss Motoring Challenge 2014 poster in plastic film.

2) If you don't have a lamination machine, your local office supply or copy store will help. My local FedEx/Kinkos has a self-serve machine, and you can buy the film there one sheet at a time.

3) As long as you're laminating that poster, put Moss's list of destinations on the back side.

4) You can check items off the list as you collect them. A Sharpie magic marker will write indelibly on lamination material.

5) Don't forget to wear a BritishV8 shirt and display a BritishV8 sticker in every photo! Why not put your BritishV8 sticker right inside the lamination, as shown above?

If there's sufficient interest, I'd like to offer prizes to the person or team who posts the most Challenge photos here on this thread (besides me). If I do though, I'll only give credit for photos that include BritishV8 logos. Interested?

Curtis - would you clarify how the challenge works with respect to clubs... In particular, if we use the "BritishV8" club, is it a group event or still scored indificually? E.g., since you already got counties with C, E, G, L, & S, are those no longer needed by anyone else? Or does using the "BritishV8" club designation simply ensure it gets mention if/when one of us wins?

Here's how Moss describes the Club Spirit award in their rules:

QuoteThe car club with the most active participants receives a trophy of honor.

So, in other words, Moss will treat your entries as INDIVIDUAL. (My photos above are just examples.)

Another thing or two...

Moss has a webpage where you can register now. Here's the link: http://www.mossmotors.com/2014challenge/ (Click on the words "Register for the Challenge".) I've only just now registered. The most apparent advantage of registering before your submission is due in December is that you can earn up to six bonus points. Details about how to get those bonus points are evidently sent our via e-mails. When you register online for the challenge, you'll see that they've provided two blanks for entering club affiliations. (I entered "BritishV8" in both of them!)

The list isn't that specific. It just says "brewery". Perhaps next year it will stay "distillery" instead.

Download and read the rules. I bet you'll find there are many exciting and qualifying destinations in your area.

Here's our preferred local Destination: Brewery

Sadly, my Canon G11 camera fell to its death last night.

This is the last photo it recorded, before its lens smashed on the pavement.

Destination: Playground

(If it had lived a little longer, we'd have a "Destination: Junkyard" photo.)

So, I'm in the market for another camera. Perhaps a used Canon G12.

Still on the fence?

Luckily, you're still eligible to grab some easy "Sneak Peek" bonus points. Moss just sent this via e-mail to explain:

QuoteChallengers!

Some of you may be thinking, "Oh crud, I totally forgot about the June 1 deadline for those bonus points."

Well guess what? Thanks to a little slip up by yours truly, you can still get those two bonus points if you send me pictures, and a little message about the shots, by July 1.

I can't remember who but a sharp eyed Challengers pointed out that we gave a deadline date of June 1 inside the Challenge guide and July 1 on the point sheet on back. So July it is.

I've been enjoying greatly the Sneak Peek shots that have rolled in. I'm going to attach a few of them here for you.

And those of you who have joined and are participating in the Moss Motoring Challenge Facebook Group... you've become my favorite thing about FB. Do join the group if you haven't already!

Happy Motoring!

Curtis - I'm game to participate - no chance I'll win; just not enough time these days... but, I'll print out the categories & catch shots opportunistially as I can.

Off topic: Bummer about your camera... I recently bought a used Nikkon d5200 off of ebay. Can't say enough good about that camera -- especially in low light which is what I needed - was missing too many pics of football & school programs for my kids; pics are way better than i was able to get previously. To give you a feel for what you can get, I got a lightly used D5200 body (it only had 9 shots taken!), 18-55mm & 55-200mm lenses for $670. All I need to add is a plug in Wi-Fi module that allows you to immediately share pics through your phone.

That's great, Rob! You'll enjoy it. I certainly don't expect to win, but I do hope to score more points than last year's winner did. That seems realistic because Moss increased the available points from about 150 to about 200. The new "destinations" category are mostly things you can photograph locally. Two examples follow...

---

Gentlemen! I want to alert you to a scoring opportunity which only happens once per month, and which is coming up quickly. You can score points by posing with your car and with the Moss Motoring Challenge sign in a photo with the FULL MOON this Friday, June 13th. (You may be able to achieve this point without leaving your driveway.)

Tonight Lisa and I collected a two-pointer!

I know some of you drove to Indiana this past weekend for a little car show. If so, I bet you passed at least two dozen Moss Challenge photo ops along your way, and the car show itself was a photo op too!

Lisa and I couldn't make that road trip, but we got out for a nice Sunday afternoon drive:

Town: Raymer (population ~90)

There are LOTS of Moss Challenge points to collect around Colorado Springs. For example, I understand there's an easily accessible WWI memorial. The Florissant Fossil Bed National Monument (west of town) is a good spot to collect your National Monument Point. While you're in that area you can visit Victor Colorado for your V-town. If you get six other BritishV8s in a photo with your own car, you can call it a "car show" for a point. The Bumble B pub will qualify for your "British Pub" point. Grab a Teller County sign... I could go on and on!

nice drive Curtis , i like the fire/ town hall

I was part of a 9-11 car tour on the drive to French lick so was not able to get many photos. It's difficult to keep a group together when only 2 of the cars want to stop all the time for Moss points.

I'll get a few on the trip home, and we have 350+ mgbs here so that will qualify for a car show.

QuoteIt's difficult to keep a group together when only 2 of the cars want to stop...

Gee, I'm sorry to hear that. You sure picked some lame people to caravan with. But, if you encourage Carl a bit I bet you can get him to join in the fun. He used to have a lot of competitive drive back when he was younger. You might try telling him (over and over) that he's getting shown up by a whole bunch of Miata drivers.

(I'd have inserted a bunch of goofy emoticons so you'd detect my sense of humor, if only this message board's lousy Moderator would add that feature.)

Have I mentioned that Moss has announced a "British versus Miata" sub-Challenge? Here's how they described it:

QuoteThe combined points of the top 5 Miata vs. the top 5 British Challengers will decree the victors' bragging rights for
the year. The winning team's Challengers each receive a commemorative trophy.

I sure would be proud to win one of those trophies on behalf of the Allied team.

I wonder how many points one would need to finish that high.

Two other Moss Challenge "destinations" you might visit in or near Colorado Springs are the Zoo ("Cheyenne Mountain Zoo") and any of several nice wineries (e.g. "The Winery at Pikes Peak (http://wineryatpikespeak.com/)").

I played designated driver last night, and took my navigator to Mile High Winery in Denver. A very nice evening!

The road trip to BritishV8 2014 really is a great opportunity to pick up Challenge points. I've purchased a replacement Canon G11 camera on eBay, and it should arrive just in time. During or getting to the meet, we plan to score Douglas County, Fremont County, Teller County, a snapshot of cars in the host hotel lot for a "car show" point, and if time permits nearby Florissant Fossil Bed National Monument. Not bad, but you guys with longer routes could score so much more.

If you're coming in through Kansas, you'll pass through or near Quinter, Utica, Yuma (town and county, in Colorado), and Zurich. If you're coming up from Texas, grab Quay and Union county signs in New Mexico plus Huerfano and Otero counties in Colorado.

These last couple weeks, we've snapped a couple more Motoring Challenge pics with a "big camera":
(You can score one photo for each car show you participate in, up to ten points.)

I've been looking for a duck crossing sign too. Can you share with us where you found yours?

Ken, next time in Memphis Tn. ck out the Peabody Hotel. They have a daily duck parade called "The walk of the Ducks" where they ride down from the roof to the hotel Lobby and bask in the pool until they ride back up the the PM.

Kelly,
I don't know how I missed that duck crossing in Memphis.
See what a little too much Jack Daniel's can do:
Legend of The Peabody Ducks
The men had a little too much Jack Daniel's Tennessee sippin' whiskey, and thought it would be funny to place some of their live duck decoys (it was legal then for hunters to use live decoys) in the beautiful Peabody fountain.

Carl,
Too many to choose from. ;)

Those are AWESOME, Phil!!! (I especially like your green t-shirt.)

I don't know if you got an e-mail from Moss this week, but they clarified that they're giving two bonus points for "roadside oddity" photos. I should think your giant violin photo will certainly qualify. (Make a mark in the "bonus 2" space at the bottom, righthand corner of the entry form.) Well done!

===

Ken, we found that first duck crossing sign on private property. I have no doubt Moss would accept the photo, but Lisa and I weren't really satisfied with it. We figured we'd take the snapshot, and replace it later if a better opportunity came along. Duck crossing signs are very scarce in Colorado. I tracked down THE sign guy at Colorado Department of Transportation at the beginning of the summer and he told me the STATE has never put one up. He didn't know of a town or county that had either. But then, this week I got a tip via e-mail from our new friend Carey Dietz whom we met last weekend at the Westminster Brewing car show. (Carey brought a remarkable '58 Packard Hawk!) Carey noticed a duck crossing sign in his travels this week, and told me where to find it. So here it is:

Ducks Crossing:

We also got our Horse Track sign today. We'd never been to the track before, but we had a great time watching the races! Today was the last day of the season here in Colorado so we'll have to wait until next summer to go again.

Out for quick drive today and collected another sign........Dead End or as they're sometimes called here, a Cul-de-Sac. New Brunswick is an officially bilingual province(French & English) so many of the highway signs are often symbols, as seen in the green replacement sign replacement for Dead End/Cul-de-Sac.
There's another Dead End in my neighbourhood, Dead End Auto Body. Here's a pic of their mailbox.

Went for a short drive (an hour or two) this morning and followed the Saint John River before heading home before the humidity got too bad. Collected two photos right near our home: the fire station about a half mile away and a neat real estate development sign about a quarter mile away. Someone in the company has excellent tastes!

Anyone? Ken? Rob? Someone? There's still time, but you should start soon.

Phil, that MGB sign is VERY VERY cool.

I picked up another easy car show point this morning at "Mile High Harley-Davidson".
It wouldn't ordinarily brag on it... but it's our 100th point to date! (It's my first solo point because Lisa is with her mom in Canada this week. She'll be back soon.) About fifty cars showed up at today' show, including IMHO some particularly cleverly constructed rat rods. Clever... but still, such ugly welds! And their steering linkages looked dangerous. Anyhow, I especially enjoyed talking to a guy who's pretty close to done building a fiberglass '37 Ford (just needs upholstery and paint) and another guy who's putting an Olds Toronado front-wheel-drive front end and big block behind a stretched VW Beetle. Incidentally, the "car" next to mine in this snapshot is a BBC tricycle. Scary!

A beautiful day here so we went for a drive down river after dinner. We stopped at Harvey's Big Potato, a local Farm Market with about 200 acres under cultivation. The Harvey family have been farming here for about 100 years.
Known locally just as the Big Potato, their sign can be considered a Roadside Oddity.

No... but I did have a great visit with Dave Craddock, which included a tour of the Preform Resources composite fabrication shop. Preform Resources now has Ford Mustang body kits and composite parts for Porsches. And Dave took me out to dinner! And then I drove a couple hours into Canada before stopping for the night.

Yesterday I drove around for little looking for a cool Ontario sign... missing several good opportunities because I was looking for something more exciting, and finally having to settle for this lame photo I took as "nsurance".

Province of Ontario, Canada
(http://www.britishv8.org/MG/MossChallenge2014/Province-Ontario.jpg)

On the up-side, I was very excited to get this:

O County - Oxford County, Ontario
(http://www.britishv8.org/MG/MossChallenge2014/County-OxfordONT.jpg)

Had to really rush across New York, making just one brief stop:

U-town - Urbana, New York
(http://www.britishv8.org/MG/MossChallenge2014/Town-UrbanaNY.jpg)

Got to Watkins Glen just a couple minutes too late to pick up my Crew Pass, so I snuck in by showing a previous years Media Pass to someone who didn't know any better. Enjoyed a really nice dinner held in honor of our dearly departed friend John. After that, I didn't want to leave to go find "the gang" at the Seneca Lodge because I figured I might not be able to get back into the track. Now my credentials are legit, and I can come and go as I please.

The Watkins Glen vintage festival includes multiple car shows, and I suppose I could have moved my car around between them and collected a bunch of "Car Show" Motoring Challenge points. I chose to drop in briefly at this one:

"MG Car Corral at the Vintage Grand Prix of Watkins Glen" - September 6, 2014
(with Caroline & Ray Waugh who own the red MGB GT V6 at left - Bill Guzman's old "test mule" - and with long-term GT V8 owner/enthusiast Tom Rosser.)

I had hoped to find a Charity Car Wash in the town of Watkins Glen somewhere... but no luck there.

Back to racing!

I don't know about THAT, but I'd be happy to get a photo and a few words in Moss Motoring magazine. One point I'm trying to make is that our engine swaps (V8, V6, or whatever) usually don't compromise reliability or anything else - if anything, they make our cars even better for this sort of adventure!

"what is the secret to enabling email replies in a thread?"

Do you see a little box with the words "Send replies to this thread to me via email" just above the message entry/editing panel? You should be able to check that box by clicking on it. I'm not sure how I've got that set-up. I thought it was only available to the guy who starts the thread, but now I see it in all threads. (Am I the only one seeing it?)

You have now probably exceeded the number of miles per year that the Colorado House bill House Bill 13-1071 http://aircarecolorado.com/consumer-information/collector-plates/ allows for cars with collector plates and will be required to get your car hauled back on a flat bed. :-)

Yes Curtis I find the radar detector signs in conflict with the welcome sign and the old VA is for lovers slogan. And they confiscate quite a few devices.
You are proving the reliability but are still a little behind Glen Towery, no there is a guy with some miles under his belt.

Hope you can exceed the 200 point mark, it would be nice to get a $1000.00 gift card!!

Yes, the Miata is named "Hope". I believe the Austin Healey named "Grace" is currently at Hendrix Wire Wheel on Lee Street in Greensboro.

My itinerary isn't finalized, but I expect I'll be rushing to get down to Southern Pines for dinner Friday evening with my aunt and uncle. I plan to stop in Vance County on my way into North Carolina, and if time permits I might possibly dip very briefly into Greensboro on Friday afternoon to see if I can get a photo of Grace, even though I don't need one for points (since I photographed Hope already). I love Greensboro, and look for any reason to visit however briefly.

On Saturday I plan to visit Statesville to find an Iredell County sign before heading South and homeward. I'll be driving right through Lexington - and you know what that town is famous for! PJ, maybe you and I could meet-up for a late lunch on Saturday? I'd enjoy that very much!

One more thought... Saturday might be my last best chance to find a Charity Car Wash. Tips?

Nothing in Statesville. Come on down to Dillard, GA Saturday for the Southeast British Car Festival brought to you by the Peachtree MG Registry. Several of us will be there. Charles & Perky Long and myself. Mike Cook was there two years ago.

Cozy little N.GA mountain town just across the GA/TN border. Awesome Venue! Two years ago they hosted the NAMGBR National Meet. This year is the Peachtree MG Registry's bi-annual event & a NAMGAR Regional Event.

That Dillard meet sounds like a great time. However, I've committed to meeting a friend's plane at Charlotte-Douglas airport Saturday afternoon. I'll stay with his family that night, and then head briskly off to Colorado. Carl I bet you could easily score 15 Motoring Challenge points between your house and that meet. You ought to try it. Big fun!

PJ: pm sent, and I'll phone when I'm closer. I appreciate that pic more and more. Bryan really gets around, but our schedules haven't lined up yet and apparently they won't this coming week either.

I got your VM

Had a GREAT visit with PJ tonight - and here's a snapshot for my Favorites folder!

Scratch these off the list too:

Z-Town: Zebulon, North Carolina - "The Town of Friendly People"

That's Rick Hardin, Zebulon's very friendly Town Manager. The front side of the Town Hall building is far more handsome, but I took this photo of the back door before seeing the front. I'm pleased with this photo because it documents my brief meeting with Rick.

V-County: Vance, North Carolina

This attractive new farmer's market is in Henderson, the county seat of Vance County.

North of Charlotte. Statesville is the county seat.

"Destination: Charity Car Wash"

Here, I'm shaking hands with Dale Pilson, owner of "Champions of Hope".
One hundred percent of his car wash's profits go to the aid of homeless children in India.

I've met a few officers, both local and state whilst getting Moss photos. Some have agreed to be photo graphed.

Curtis you must spend all your drive time thinking of distinctive settings, and lighting and weird ways to pose with that goofy sign ,car, and the official Moss signs.

I nominate you for most creative pics in the Challenge.
I also suggest you post a few on the FB page for the challenge.

I scored two points in Illinois on Tuesday, though it seemed way out of my way. Missouri seemed wider than it ought to be, but it's Interstate all the way across and I never slowed down once - not even for Shakespeare's Pizza (a personal favorite). In Kansas, lousy roadsigns and GPS problems really messed me up. I made two costly wrong turns that took a long time to correct, and I ended up driving for hours on two-lane with big trucks in an electrical storm. (Yep, those Dunlops are beginning to look a little tired but I didn't feel like I was on the edge. I'm gonna need tie rod ends when I get home, and I'll be posting a few new thoughts about rear shock absorbers.) Now, I'm gonna be getting home really late on Lisa's birthday. I'm a bit angry about that; I thought I had everything timed really neatly.

Here's the "touchdown" I scored in Illinois:

And here's the surprise "extra point" that's gonna have other Challengers talking:
(Do me a favor and keep this one a secret from non V8/V6 people for now.)

No recent Challenge photos here. Have been in northern British Columbia for the past two weeks spoiling grandchildren. Haven't seen a British car in nearly four weeks but Dawson Creek, BC has to be the pickup capitol of the world. Lots of 4x4, dually, crew cabs, mostly diesel pickups and one ton trucks everywwhere, nevermind the heavy tractor trailer rigs hauling oilfield equipment. Lots of horses too as there was a quarter horse and barrel racing competition in town one weekend.

Did come across one roadside odddity though in a small town called Beaver Lodge.

Back home from our visit to northern British Columbia but not a lot of free time for cruising and collecting Challenge photos, plus we've had a lot of rain recently. Went out to a small local airport for my "Airport" photo. This pic is of a friend's RV4.
103_0217Copy.JPG

The second pic is of a Republic Seabee which has been in this hanger for over 40 years. Tragic story......the owner was killed while trying to prop start the plane after the electric starter failed. The plane was parked and hasn't moved since.

Way cool!

Not knowing much about old planes, I wondered where the prop on the Seabee was. Found an interesting Wikipedia article, and this photo of one in flight:

(from Wikipedia)

I rode in a sea plane once. On takeoff, at the moment it broke contact from water, the acceleration was fantastic.

Had a couple free days, so I decided to drive up and see the Black Hills and Badlands or South Dakota.

Snapped these Motoring Challenge pics:

North Dakota

Montana

Ziebach County, South Dakota --- This is my 26th and final County point!

These are extra photos... either they don't fit Moss' categories or else they're redundant with ones I already had:

Badlands National Park is badass! If you have a chance to visit, don't miss it.

The Black Hills would be a really great place for a BritishV8 meet someday, and October might be the best time to have it. The Aspens were still golden, but maybe a week past their prime. Going when I did, a lot of the touristy businesses were already closed for the season. I paid just $35 for a room in a four-story hotel (maybe 120 rooms?) - and learned I was one of only nine guests Monday night. Drove 35 miles down one scenic road, and saw less than a dozen cars along my way. And not a single Harley, which is fine with me. Also, if you guys can keep a secret: Route 16A between Mount Rushmore and the entrance to Custer State Park (where I turned around and went back) is among the best sports car roads I've ever driven. You can't go fast, but the turns are tight enough to make an MGB seem wide. In some sections, the lanes split and you're winding down a narrow single-lane through an Aspen filled valley, like this:

Route-16A.jpg

Suspension bridges that arc right or left... and three single-lane tunnels aligned to provide views like this one:

Just wonderful!

Lisa couldn't go with me this time, so I expect we'll return together next year.

41 States. Incredible! And how many miles?
I thought I had a fairly busy summer with 11,000 miles in the TR6 but you're way above that.
I never realized how close you are to The Black Hills. Six hour drive. I love it there. And yes, it would be a great LBC get together place. We were there on our motorcycles about two weeks before the August 2011 Sturgis Bike Week. It was quite manageable. Fall would be good.

Yeah Curtis. One small thing to do first. Hypnotize the wife and convince her that it is a good thing to go a few months without pay. Then, while I have her under, talk her into riding around in "that uncomfortable, hot, loud MG" (her words) or that it would be a good idea that I should go alone while she stays home to stare at the four walls. :)

Seriously, I'd love to do something like that. Maybe after I retire.

I was thinking you hit a lot of states this summer.....amazing!

Count on it!

When Lisa suggested we do the Challenge, it was just something to do on Sunday afternoons. She figured we weren't seeing enough of Colorado's variety. Collecting town signs will get you onto some unfamiliar routes. Also, the scavenger hunt points interested her: "winery", "cupcake bakery", "art gallery", "covered bridge", etc. --- We were ~3/4 done collecting town and county signs before I decided to collect states too. Now, we are indeed scheming to grab some photos on the other side of the Rockies. Since Lisa has run out of Vacation days, we're thinking she might grab a cheap flight home from somewhere along my route.

I really like those bad-ass black wheels!

Life keeps getting in my way. Just the other day, I charted out a new and better route to pick up the west coast states. Then snow came. It's 18F and my radio is calling for 2 more inches here. Perhaps after that melts! All I have to do is get across or around the Rockies and then there's just deserts and beaches, right?

Thanks Curtis.
They are 15" x 6" from a Nissan Sentra and look great from twenty feet, got some surface rust. One of the hazards in living where salt is the other "S" word during our winters. There are a couple of clearance issues so over the winter I'll cut the centers out on the lathe, sand blast the parts, adjust the offset and have a friend TIG weld the centers back in place, then powder coat them. Haven't decided about a set of Baby Moons or trim rings, don't think I'd want both.

I got a ride in Jim Stuart's car at Indy and remember his wheels with the Baby Moons, going for the same look.

Moss has just announced results for the 2014 Challenge. I'll start a new thread later today with the full story. For now, I'll just give you this summary.

The Good News: Lisa and I tied for FIFTH PLACE OVERALL!!!

That's exactly what we were hoping and working for. PJ's 2013 entry inspired us, and I wanted to match his results. I figured a fifth place finish would be high enough to keep V8/V6 conversions on everyone's radar, but not so high as to make one of BritishV8's key advertisers uncomfortable.

The Bad News: BritishV8 Got Skunked Really Bad in the Club Spirit Award.

I haven't heard yet exactly how many of us listed "BritishV8" as our club affiliation, but I do know the "Les Bois Miata Club" of Boise, Idaho won. We must do better next year!

See you in Indy.

I e-mailed Moss for a little clarification, and learned that Les Bois Miata Club had just five members who participated in the 2014 Motoring Challenge. Dave at Moss wrote:
Quote...but the remarkable thing was they all had more than 100 points! Many of their photos were taken on group drives. It looked like they had a ton of fun.

I bet they did!

One of their members, Richard St. Clair, scored 178 points to tie Lisa and I for Fifth Place overall.

Just think how many point scoring opportunities BritishV8 guys will pass coming and going from our 2015 meet in Indianapolis. I plan to scout out some point scoring destinations near our host hotel. Imagine twenty or more of us participating. BritishV8 could completely dominate the 2015 Club Spirit Award.
