Hey folks,
There's a Rover flywheel, pressure plate, and clutch for sale near me. Fellow says its for BOPR engine and he was going to use it in a conversion like us but never got around to it. He thinks it was for the Ford T5 tranny. The price is great. Ad follows:
"For Sale: I have a complete clutch set up for a Rover / Buick engine. The flywheel is from a Rover V-8. The Pressure Plate is a Ford and has the part number D9BC-7563-DA. Clutch and pressure plate are 10" Diameter. The disc in in new condition, as seen in the photo, and is for a ten spline input shaft. I was told that this came out of a TR8 that was set up for a ford T-5 Transmission but have no way to confirm this. I have since abandoned the project and no longer need."
Question: Since I'll be using a WCT-5 from a Chevy, should I buy this and sell the pressure plate and clutch or could I still use the pressure plate?

You should be able to use the pressure plate, but finding a 10.0" chevy disc has become problematic. Most of the clutch makers stopped producing them a few years back. They now show the plate for an '84 Camaro 305 (for example) as changed to a 10.4". I guess the Camaro guys are supposed to get the flywheel redrilled, not an option for those of us with a small custom aluminum flywheel. As of last week McCleod still has this 10" disc in stock even though it's not listed on their site anymore. Summit will sell you one for $139, it's part # MCL-260276, drop shipped from McCleod. Or D&D has them, I don't know how much. This Chevy disc works fine with the Mustang pressure plate, that's how the Bakers set up my motor many moons ago.

Tim, depending on your torque output, on your RV8, you might consider a "dual friction" disc fron Centerforce, if available, or perhaps similar in torque capacity, from Kennedy Engineering. You'll need to know the clamp load of your chosen pressure plate. Cheers, roverman.
What about the flywheel? Should I get that at least? For the $ I could get it all and toss what I don't need?
