Title: 1965 Buick 300 With 4 Barrel Intake

I have not been inside this motor so I can not advise on it's internal condition.

You can buy the assembled motor for $500. No carb, no generator, no starter, no flywheel.

You can buy the intake for $500.

You can buy the intake and heads for $500.

I will remove the intake and heads and box them up for shipment on my nickle.

I will strap the motor to a pallet and deliver it to truck freight terminal of your choice.

You can pick the beast up at my storage shed in Jonesboro, AR (70 miles NW of the Interstate bridges at Memphis, TN).

The '65 had iron heads and intake.

Thanks Jim,

I should have noted that.  In 64  the heads and intake were aluminum and of a different design.  65 was the only year Buick offered a 4 barrel intake.

These engines are based on the 215.  They are light, narrow and have a hood performance potential.  Unfortunately, the after marked does not offer an aluminum high rise 4 barrel intake.  Here is a link to an article about building up a Buick 300:

This is a good engine for a conversion, especially if the owner can afford a set of the TA Rover aluminum heads which have great breathing potential. Harcourt, Wildcat, the factory Rover EFI and other intakes for the Rover can be used with spacer plates. The blocks are good for about 700 hp and the weight is within a pound or two of the 5 liter Ford. Roller rockers are readily available and a roller cam may be as well. Modern Neoprene crank seals are commonly used, all the Rover conversion bits apply except the bellhousing and flywheel. The bellhousing is much more common and can be had for about $75 rather than 200+ and if it hasn't been sold yet there is an aluminum flywheel complete with small multi-disc clutch package in these classifieds listed for $250. Lastly, with a Buick 350 crank and the right pistons the displacement is easily increased to 5.7L or 350 cu/in.

The Buick 300 crank is used to stroke Buick and Olds 215s.

The Buick 350 crank is used to stroke the Buick 300.

A lot of interchangeability between the Buick and Olds 215, the Rover, the Buick 300, and the Buick V6.

Actually, 1964 also had a 4 barrel option.

My understanding is that the 64 aluminum intake will not work with the later cast iron heads (and vice versa).  If I am out of order here please let me know.  I have no desire to misrepresent any item I sell or provide misleading information.

Correct, but most here prefer the alloy heads for weight reduction. The heads and intake have been mismatched successfully. I believe it was the alloy intake on iron heads. Not sure if it'll work the other way or not but I suspect it could. Results are not ideal of course. Weight with the alloy heads and intake is about 400 pounds. With iron it is around 450 I believe. This is a little heavy for the MGB but acceptable if for instance a builder wanted to use the iron and later swap to alloy as an upgrade.

Sold a '64 300 4 barrel manifold to Buick collector and he modified it to work on '65 or '66 iron heads.
