Welcome to our message board, Dave. That's a great photo. I hope you'll post more!
Vintage racing seems to be particularly fun when you can run against similar cars. I believe there are at least three other SP250 vintage racecars you might get to race with on the East coast. Joe Dockman lives in Maryland, and I've seen him race at Summit Point a couple times and I think at V.I.R. too. Larry Ligas lives in Florida, and runs a more highly modified SP250 in HSR events. My records aren't too great, but I seem to recollect hearing from someone from New Jersey who races an SP250 in SVRA events plus I've also traded e-mails with Dave Frazer III who is/was restoring his father's SP250 racecar (#82, off-white in color). I'm not sure if Dave Frazer's SP250 is race ready yet; back in February of 2011 he had the body off and was restoring the frame.
David nice looking car. I think i've seen it in a few vintage racing magazines photos. I plan to return to RA in 2014 for the ELVF if your interested.

Hi David,
Is that Carl Christensen's old car by any chance? I understand his road SP ended-up in Italy, had lost track of the race car.
Beautifully prepared car...
Cheers,
Jim
Yes this was Carl's car. I've raced at Road America, Watkins Glen, Pitt Race and upcoming year Indy and Pocono. Jim, were you the one who painted Carl's car ? I messaged someone wo told me they painted it. I just repainted it this Winter for the INDY svra coming up June 5-9. I also had GMT replace the very tired Gearbox. Can't wait for INDY !
It was apparently raced at Road America back in the 70's (long before Carl) by Mattison, but was a street car then. I have Carl's Logbook with Laguna Seca, Sears Point, several others. Then car was owned by Hayes Harris after Carl and raced Road Altlanta and Sebring. Hayes owns or owned Wirewheel.com. The it went to Canada, was raced in Calgary, Alberta area for years by Mike Hornerr. I bought it from Hornerr. I've raced with the SVRA at Road America, Watkins Glen, Pitt Race and upcoming year Indy and Pocono and hope to do the Vscca's Mt Equinox Hillclimb... I may also get to Summit....
