For all of you that have heard of Group 44 and the cars they built for competition there were always a few key guys that made things work! Lanky Foushee joined Group 44 in 1970 and even up until recently maintained the Group 44 Legacy. He passed away on November 8th, 2012. I had met him for the first time in 2001 and there after at a lot of Vintage events where as typical the Group 44 cars were tearing up the track. He gave me all kinds of insight on the TR7s and TR8s. He will be missed.

As I understand it , he was largely responsible for the impressive power and durability of the TR 8 engines, in these cars ? R.I.P., Lanky. roverman.

I just discovered that the TR8 has finally been listed in the 2012 SCCA GCR as eligible for "National" races in the GT2 class - along with the already eligible MGB GT V8 and the Rover MG RV8.
