Title: "Jabroc" hi density wood
Post by: roverman on August 03, 2012, 06:42:49 PM
1/2 the strength of steel with 1/5 the weight. Distributed by Pegasus Auto Racing. They say skid plates, but how about bulkheads /etc. ?  roverman.

Kinda like this, eh?

$73 plus shipping for a 20" by 40" piece seems pretty extravagant to me.

Maybe you could just get some lauan plywood and coat it with a good layer of epoxy resin.

Jabroc is not light, and is expensive, carbon/ epoxy using aluminum  honeycomb or a foam core like klegecell ,divinicell would make good bulkhead s etc, easy to vacbag flatstock. Jabroc appears to be layers of wood veneer bonded with resin and compressed mightily,, thats why it makes good rub blocks.

Ok, rub blocks, got it. Perhaps on Hemi Healey, but if so, titanium would be a better show. roverman.
