I just switched to American collectors. They have a few tiers that go by how many miles you plan on driving a year. I had hagerty until I read the fine print saying you pretty much cant use your car as a car, no driving to work, the store, joy rides, etc. only to car shows, mechanic shop or in parades.  I actually use my car, that's the reason I'm building it to be as I want.

We had this discussion on this forum a year or so ago and it prompted me to call my Hagerty insurance agent and ask him specific questions, including " if  I want to take my wife to dinner or go for an occasional  pleasure drive is it ok?" He gave me an emphatic yes, it's fine to do that. He did say that driving to work, the store, or daily routine was not permitted. Maybe I should ask him to put that in writing :-) Better yet, perhaps more research on my part is needed.

You can get an affordable classic car insurance quote since you hardly use the car. If you're over 50 or at 50, joining the AARP will make you eligible for so many discounts...even on classic car insurance. I know it might make you feel old but hey if the price is good...
