How about a wood burning gassification system-you could make natural gas to run your car.........
Rocket City Rednecks - off the grid. lol I know we have a few rocket scientists out there.
What's it take to set up an engine to run on propane or acohol. just curious
Propane conversions are fairly common, especially in farming areas. Plenty of off the shelf components available for that, but they are cumbersome and packaging would be a problem in our small cars. As for alcohol, that's much easier, you just have to have a fuel system and carb that will flow twice the volume of alcohol than before with gasoline and make sure all the rubber components are compatable with alcohol fuels. It's also pretty corosive so be prepared to have increased maintenance on your carb and other fuel system components. With either fuel you'd be better off to build a new engine designed just for that type of fuel as both work better with higher compression ratios than gasoline.
There's a movement afoot, by our ever-caring state beauracuracy, to stop wood burning in Ca. Wood burning fireplaces/etc., emit a certain particle that is known to the state of Ca., to be harmfull. You see, I am blessed to live in such a hitech state that is leading the world to cleaner air, NO manufacturing(causes pollution),all the while going broke, in record fashion. IMHO, roverman.
it must really be a bummer for the Surgeon General of the United States to face how much more the Surgeon General of the Republic, err State of California apparently knows about keeping folks safe.
