Title: Grand-Am Road racing in Kansas City
Post by: Phillip G on July 08, 2011, 10:10:23 AM
Road racing fans,

It's official.  The Kansas Speedway, the France family owned Nascar track in KC, announced that an all new infield road race course for Grand-Am Road Racing will begin construction immediately following the Spring 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup STP 400.

Imagine that, International ALMS - American LeMans Series - sports car/road racing right here in Kansas City by Fall 2012 !

Now, if the SCCA National Championship races could return to middle America - at Kansas Speedway - all would be right with the world.

cheers,

phillip g

That is great news!  I only live a few minutes from the track.  I hope they offer track days.

Dan,

I think a correction is due.  GRAND AM is the Rolex Series and not the ALMS (American LeMans) series.

Sorry for my error - but still great road racing in KC to come.

cheers,

I will happily take any road racing I can get.
