I know that after the TR8 was made the Rover V8 was developed further. The later engines having fuel injection and distributorless ignition.
Will these later V8s fit in the TR7 engine bay without problems or do you have to mess about fitting earlier parts to them in the way people do fitting them in an MGB.
There is no difference in most of the physical dimensions to fit the later engines vs. earlier ones, into the TR7 engine bay. The only concern is the height of the intake plenum on some of the later Land Rover models (Thor intake), and of course sorting out the ancillaries and electrics. Many people replace the fuel injection with an Edelbrock or Holley carb setup, which eliminates a big chunk of gadgetry and electronics.

Also, there is a forum dedicated to TR8s and TR7V8s (forum.triumphtr7.com). You have to join, but it is free and worth it if you are considering a conversion.
