Another of my endless dumb questions I guess, but does anyone know the rear end ratio of a 1972 MGB-GT non-overdrive.

All four cylinder MGBs came standard with 3.909:1 rear axles.

Thanks Curtis. I need to start looking for the gear that goes on the end of the speedometer cable.

Curtis is spot on. One obscure exception was the rare (very limited production) mgb with automatic transmission. It was a 3.71 ratio.
