Title: 64 buick 300 manual trans bellhousing
Post by: hydrocyanus on December 03, 2010, 08:47:40 PM
Hi everyone, Can someone help me with a bellhousing fitment issue, will a buick 300 1964 bellhousing manual trans bolt to a rover 4.0 or 4.6 block and if known what other buick bellhousings will work with a manual and the rover blocks thanks [also what bellhousings for the buick 350 will work with manual trans thinking of doing an iron block. Thanks everyone. Ok so will a 62 215 3 speed belhousing work with any 4 ,5, or 6 speed transmissions that you know of?

64 and up BOP GM (Buick,Olds,Pontiac) including Buick 350  is not the same as 61-63 Buick,Pontiac and Olds 215 and Rover (BOPR). Your 64 Buick 300 bellhousing  will fit a 350 Buick. Hope this helps.

Yes, 4 speed bell works with Camaro/Firebird and S-10/S-15 T5 with same wide pattern, in addition to Muncie,T-10 and Saginaw 4 speeds. D&D has an adapter for the 3 speed bell to Ford T5.

The 215 bellhousings came in 2 different tranny bolt mounting options.  Some modification may be required.  The one I have has the wrong bolt pattern for the t5, but there is casting buttons where the proper mounting holes need to be drilled.  I must have the 3 speed bell housing.

There were 3 215 bellhousings; a 3 speed bolt pattern, a 4 speed pattern, & one with both patterns.  Mine is the dual pattern, but did not have the threads tapped in the 4 speed holes.
